Do you really think they were only apart by 4 mil total and couldn't get it done?

Did you miss how Ingram left us over $500k?

Completely different situation.

That was free agency and was a spur of the moment decision. Cgj's agent and the saints have been talking for a while.

He didn't leave over 4 mil total. Payton even said ingram's agent didn't give them a chance.

Given his age it was more likely a 5 or 6 year deal, so maybe $48 mil vs. $72 mil, with 1/2 to 2/3rds guaranteed.

That is a WIDE gulf. This isn't about $4 mil. This is about $20ish mil plus guarantees.

is a 5th round pick justifiable compensation to give up a probowl talent in the secondary before game 1 of a season long playoff run team? the answer is no. hell no. Chauncey wouldn't want his play on the field to impact his free agency value so he's going to ball out unhappily.

If he's going to be a locker room cancer then yes it is.

I don't recall bringing up the trade compensation itself.

That doesn't invalidate my point regardless.

The whiners on here have the advantage of pointing the finger at the front office in hindsight, where the team has to make it's decisions on the fly in real time. Easy to point the finger. Not taking up for the front office just pointing out the reality of the business.

Sounds like Gardner Johnson didn’t “understand it’s a business”, J. Sitting out is one thing but rebelling against the coaches is another thing. Granted it’s one side but if you have big aspirations this year, you cannot let a malcontent like that guy linger

I find it extremely odd today is the first day we've seen anyone report of that...and look I like Nick but its fairly obvious where he gets his information from. Please share if you've seen that anywhere else.

Looked rhetorical to me since you immediately answered and have your mind made up.

I do think we should have gotten more. Likely a 3rd. We didn't. Is what it is.

I don't harp on things that are done any more. shite is stressful. Moving on with what we have and where we are.

If you want to run around being mad about it be my guest.

It's also odd that the Eagles, who are a well-run organization, traded for him if that's the concern.

fair but it was still a question. Opinions are important to message boards. Without opinions, there ain't much to talk about really. The question was an honest attempt at first for your thoughts on the matter.

My opinion is it sucks all around but I get it and it is what it is. We have players that can step up and I'll be moving on just like the team did.

He’s been sitting out practice and only doing walk throughs since camp started, and left camp for a few days as well. Couple that with his cryptic little tweets, it’s starting to make sense. Is it really shocking he could be a malcontent?

I don’t like it, but he’s not a Pro Bowl talent. It’s his attitude more than his actual play that we like. Hopefully Tyrann brings that swag, but without all the negative shite CGJ is capable of.
