I know we are looking forward to going into the bye at 4-1 with Ingram back at home, but the redskins scare me. We’ve had our struggles with them, and it took an all time great comeback to beat them last year. They appear to be stout on defense (though 4 games may not be a great sample size), being #1 in yardage and #2 in points. Also, Alex Smith has beat us the last 3 times he’s played us (according to limited research— 2011 9ers playoffs, 2012 9ers and 2016 chiefs). At least it is at home...

I'm a little worried too. Hoping the hype surrounding Ingram's return propels us to a victory. Alex Smith has had our number, but we've been alternating between dr jeckle and mr hyde with defense and offense. So this week we'll see the D give up yards and points to Smith, but our offense is going to show up and outscore them. Man, that was one hell of a comeback win last year.

I don’t think there’s such a thing as a “trap game” in the NFL

Not to mention the Redskins always give the Saints fits.

definitely not a trap game.

trap implies the TEAM(not some of the fans) are overlooking an opponent coming off or entering a big matchup(does not apply) or by facing a vastly inferior team (does not apply)

Saints know the situation
1.) MNF, 2.) Redskins are a solid team

It is a tough matchup but not a trap game. TB and Cleveland were trap games.

It would probably be best if you don't watch the rest of the season. if you don't like facing the Redskins you really wont like the rest of the schedule.

If we can win Monday night then the season is still looking good at 4-1.

Eagles, Steelers, and Vikings look very beatable however the Bengals and Ravens look a lot tougher than when the schedule came out.

I still think this team is in a great shot to host a playoff game or two. Not sure anyone can catch the Rams unless we beat them and both of us finish 14-2. Rams division with Thomas and Jimmy G down looks to be a cake walk for the Rams.

Rams are only a game ahead of us. I get that they look fantastic right now but a season is a marathon and not a sprint.

They do play in an awful division but they also have an equally tough out of division slate. Losing Talib and Peters already being seriously nicked does help(not wishing injury just stating fact)

Also Goff will have to prove he can play elite on the road too...something young QBs usually have difficulty consistently doing. I wouldn't pencil them in at 14-2 just yet. I don't think anyone in the NFC will have that kind of record this year.

I just don't see it. No way we lose the game where Drew breaks the record.

Saints are coming in at 3-1 and getting one of the team leaders back in prime time on Monday night football. If they get caught in a trap shame on them.

Definitely not. The Skins will be tough to beat because they’re a solid team, but not a trap game for several reasons.

1. MNF
2. Heading into bye so not looking to next week opponent
3. It’s the NFL, every week is hard and there are no trap games

I think the Rams are beatable. Kirk Cousins dropped over 400 yards on them and the Rams didn't exactly blow them out of the water. The Chargers were able to run on them with Gordon putting up almost 100 yards and a TD. The two teams they blew out of the water were the Cardinals and Raiders who both suck.

Not saying the Rams aren't good but I'm not crowning them as the team to beat just yet.

Huge game for us so its basically the opposite of a trap game... Saints will be ready to go.

1) Team wants to enter bye week on a high note

2) Ingram back and roaring to go

3) Drew Brees going for a career record

4) MNF at home which includes the dome-field advantage that comes with it

5) Win and you remain atop the division

This. Saints are 9-17 against Washington all time.

How many crazy games have we had with them? The 2009 game with the Meachem fumble return. The stupid RGIII game. Last year’s overtime nail biter.

What worries me this game is the extra prep time that Washington has.

Although, the last time the Saints and Redskins played on a Monday night was in 1992.
Saints won 20-3.

Yeah this game has the marks of one. Good defense, team focused on a record, coming off a few good wins.

Need to come out focused.

They're actually pretty formidable currently in first place.

No trap games are for teams that aren’t good. The Redskins are actually good. The team will be focused
