Happened in 2001. Does anyone remember that and have video of it? My first game I had been too and am trying to find it.

yes, but there should have been multiple penalties against the Colts on that play.

It’s strange that plays like this dont happen more often. It’s smart. With that type of pass, worst thing that happens is the receiver drops the ball, and it’s an incomplete pass that stops the clock.

Depends entirely on the situation, but the worst thing that can typically happen in the fake spike situation is if the WR catches the ball and is tackled in bounds. But if you have smart WR(s) that are in sync with the QB, then the fake spike can be a great move, even if it only means the WR running a quick out and making an ensuing FG 5 yards shorter. If it's setting up for a 60+ yard FG, then the fake spike + go route may be worth a try, and the QB won't be called for grounding if the ball is "thrown away" in the range of the WR.

Probably the best game of Aaron Brooks career.

wasnt it like a 30 yard td run by manning? or did it just seem like that because he was so slow?

I was there too and I thought it should have been a TD run.

I was there.

From what I remember the Colts also scored on the first play of the game which was an 80 yard td pass or something. We came back to win from 14 down or so.

I thought it was like a 60-yard TD run that got called back. I just remember Manning galloping down the field for what seemed like hours.

This game was Boo Williams' coming-out party. Thought we had the next great receiving TE.

Yep. Marcus Pollard, I think, 80 yards right down the middle of the field.

We won 34-20? AB only had a couple incompletions if I remember right.

No, they were gifted a Field Goal.

The Colts should have been penalized and a time run off.

-calling a time out that they didn't have
-illegal formation not having enough players on the line
-illegal motion on the WR both of them

Why?

I mean, Eli is a whiny little bitch, but what do you have against Peyton and Archie? Are you including Cooper here? What about Danieal?

I don't either and even if I missed the game ESPN was pretty much the only thing I watch in those days.

I love the Mannings.....BUT

1) Yea it’s a smart play, but it’s taking advantage of the rules to protect a QB.

2) I took my young son to another Colt game in the dome. They beat like 75-0 and Manning was obviously thrilled to run up the score on us.
