Saints can find another safety in draft for sure. Another draft like last one, Saints can make run for Super Bowl for next 3 years.

Sayonara I hope. Not a terrible bum but not worth paying any real money for. Far too may holes in his game for a 5th year player.

Are there any strong safeties that are going to be available next year that are better? Kam Chancellor and Eric Reid are both free agents next year but what are they going to ask for in terms of money? Are either of them at this point that much better than Vaccaro? Who's going to be available in the draft? These are all things that need to be weighed if you're going to decide to not resign him.

He's at his best closer to the line in run support or as a blitzer. I don't understand why we constantly put him in single coverage on opposing receivers. Let him blitz or take him out on pass downs.

Not one single person was kneeling for the anthem at the Jets game, I looked.

We could have had Landon Collins. Instead we drafted Stephone Anthony.

He’s not worth the contract he’s going to demand 7m+ and his play isn’t so crazy that getting a vet min safety and drafting a safety in round 3-4 will be much if any difference

What I find funny about post like this is...
It's prolly coming from the same people who hated Harper and Jenkins until the Saints let them go and became studs for the Eagles and Panthers and them complained about Saints letting them go....

They'll do the same here with Vacarro. Dude is not that bad.

Will suck to lose his leadership in the secondary, don't know if anyone else back there has the right skills to be that, but I want guys who can tackle so

You’d be 100% wrong. Harper and Jenkins knew how to play their assignments. They didn’t forget what to do once the ball hikes. Harper I’ve “stood up for” many times on here. His ability was limited but he knew his assignment and either got beat or didn’t. Vaccaro, especially at beginning of year blew several assignments. Saints beat writers, Vaccaro himself, Payton, and going back and rewatching game you could see it. Plus there has been at least 3-4 plays where he was literally jogging at ball carrier while not being far from him. I don’t hate Vaccaro, I just wouldn’t pay good money for him.

I always thought we should have kept Jenkins and moved him closer to the LOS and let Harper go since he was getting older and was becoming very limited

Yea I know Jenkins is physical for a FS, just not sure if enough to play at LOS all the time. I’m sure he could have played well in that role also

Vaccaro is an extremely flawed player with limited upside and significant downside.

He's worse in coverage than some linebacker and deserves nowhere near the money he is going to ask for. Reality is that as a DB covering the slot, PJ Williams is better, and you'd be better of spending money on a LBer that can cover than paying that much for a safety that can't cover. At least the linebacker will give you size at the line.

Vaccaro's also just been a headache throughout his career and can't stay healthy on top of that.

I say, resign Bush to be your 3rd safety, Banjo can get a little more run and spend that money more wisely on a 3 tool LBer. That is where the Saints need more help.

I agree with that, IF the Saints get a LBer and allow PJ to get more snaps.

We need a high IQ, good athletic linebacker badly.
