Why was he so hyped up back in the day, and why did he crash and burn and never actually play for us?

He seemed to generate the GOAT preseason hype but never actually recorded any NFL statistics.

Never ever fall for the preseason hype.

Note, you never heard of Marcus Colston before game one.

The modern day ojo is that WR we had Butler 2 years ago that everyone was talking about during training camp.

Ojo had a great camp. Got reporters talking which got fans excited. It happens pretty often. First there was Ojo, then there was Mike Haas, then there was Adrian Arrington, then Nick Toon, then Brandon Coleman, then Emmanuel Butler.

Arrington and Coleman actually played, but I think that was more a product of us having peak Brees and being able to use lower level WR talent so we could fill other positions with guys like CJ Spiller and Brandon Browner.

Walter Thomas…an undrafted DT that we collectively lost our minds cause he could do a back flip. Yet we never even asked if he was in shape. Cut on conditioning day. Craig from Friday had it better when he got fired on his day off.

As far as Ojo, damn that was some next level hype. But just goes to show Haslett couldn’t draft players to save his life. For every Deuce or Darren Howard, there is a graveyard of bad picks from those years.

the Walter Thomas hype was fricking insane.

But it wasn't just saints fans. So many other fanbases were PISSED that we got him and not their team.

Then the fatass gets cut 10 minutes into the first practice

Emmanuel Butler
This is the one that made me officially stop buying into any camp hype. I was convinced he would be at least a solid #3 for years.

You could create an all time “training camp hall of fame” roster with guys like Ojo, Butler, Martez Wilson, garret Grayson etc.

He was a 6’5” Nigerian who could fly but hadn’t played much ball. He was intriguing bc of the unknown
