So obviously this is just all speculation, but what do you think is going on with him lately?

Is Shaheed's production making him feel like less of a target for Carr? Is he having off the field issues possibly? I just find it hard to believe that he's turning into another Brandin Cooks after one season. He has the speed and we know he can routes, but maybe there is just confusion amongst him and Carr in the huddle.

He doesn’t have the desire to be great

He hasn’t had it the entire time he’s been here

It’s a character makeup thing that’s unlikely to change.

Folks were screaming last week that it was “all Carr’s fault” that he was being a baby backed b!+ch.

The dude is soft, mentally. And he’s childish as hell.

And his character was one of the main reasons we drafted him so high.

Bad look for the scouts and front office.

I think something is going on off field and it’s carrying over. Dude is turning into Brandon Cooks in front of our eyes.

No, they weren't, they were simply saying that Carr was yelling at him for something that was not his fault. He was not supposed to be a target on that play, only a decoy to pull his guy out of the play.

Carr's reaction was a perfect example of childish behavior.

That being said, Olave seems soft to me too. So those two are a bad combination.

Frustration with a diminished role in a putrid offense.

The emergence of Shaheed and reemergence (sorta) of MT13 takes a lot of balls away from him. If they were scoring 30 a game, I'm sure he'd be fine with it, but sucking and not getting as many targets? That's rough for a 23 year old guy who seemed destined to be a superstar.

I’m not sure where the targets narrative started, but targets isn’t the issue. He currently has 77 targets, good for 7th in the NFL. Per game is 9.6 targets which is Top 15 NFL, and on pace for 164 targets for the season, which is 45 more than he had last season.

A lot of things can be speculated, but I’m not sure lack of targets is one of them.

He’s weak. He’s got weak hands, weak grip, and a weak mind.

Yeah, targets not a problem. However, his catch rate (percentage of targets that lead to receptions) is pretty low.

Olave has the physicality of Brandon cooks, the hands of Robert meachem, and the driving acumen of Donte Stallworth.

Who said he was ever going to be a superstar lol? I always thought his ceiling was a top tier number 2 receiver. I said a few times last year he reminds me of a way better version of Lance Moore. I’ve seen nothing to change that opinion.

Since Week 12 of last season:

Chris Olave
+ 112 targets
+ 799 yards

Rashid Shaheed
+ 64 targets
+ 856 yards

That said, if he didn’t have a 40 yard TD doink off his head, people would be saying he’s back

His mental makeup has been a huge disappointment

When has Olave shown “diva tendancies”?
