I'm told the Vikings will release WR Adam Thielen this morning, marking the end of an era for a Minnesota icon. Thielen had a $19.97mm cap hit for 2023 and, given the thin WR FA market, had no incentive to take a big pay cut or reduced role.

Curious if this could be a plan B if MT doesn't work out.

Thielen has been a shell of his former self the last few years.

Thielen has been one of my favorite receivers and I would love to have him. He’s getting a little older and a bit more injury prone the last couple years. While not elite anymore he is still way above average. If I had to pick between him and MT it’s Thielen all day. When healthy I believe MT is a much better athlete at this point, I just don’t believe he will ever play a full season again. And while Thielen may not play a whole season either I think it would be a lot more games than Thomas.

I love Jarvis, but Thielen would be a huge upgrade. He could be like another Emmanuel Sanders for us.

This dude is like Jerry Rice every time he plays us. Would be awesome to have on our team

That year of Emmanuel Sanders was considered a huge upgrade? Jarvis was hurt all year dude, I still think he's a better receiver today than Emmanuel Sanders. For his career he also averages a good 5-6 more yards per game than Sanders.

Thielen would be cool if he came extremely cheap, but I think Jarvis will be more productive than him in 2023. Jarvis is 2 years younger and still looked good before he got nicked up. I mean game one he had like 120 yards on 6-7 receptions

He would look great in the Lance Moore role

He had those two really good years a few years back in terms of yardage.

His top two years in TDs were the last 2/3.

He’ll be 33 and body is breaking down. Never spend FA money on name guys on the downslope.

3 years ago I’d do anything to get him but Father Time has clearly taken a step from him. Better to find a young guy.

Yup, but he's a veteran presence that would be great in a complimentary role. I think he could really be a leader in that wide receiver room.

Plus, he's a hard-working lunch pail full of gym rats, or something like that

Patriots LOVE white wide receivers. It would not surprise me at all. But I’d love for the Saints to get him.
