I remember Lattimore getting checked out for a concussion during the game last week
took a bad fall and his head kinda got crunched and bent all odd ways

No he didn't. I remember him being hit hard but never knocked out. They no longer "pretend" it doesn't happen. If Brees gets hit in head hard enough and shows signs of concussions then they hold him out. There are times where signs of concussions don't show up for several hours or even the next day, seems like the case for Lattimore.
