All the talks were that he dominated during camp and his current injury is a toe, not his ankle. If he’s available at a reduced salary we should still try to keep him. Our offense has been dog shite without him out there.

Kamara was used way more running than catching lately.

Then again, it's Brees to Jameis to Dalton.

Didn’t we already trade that for a freak athlete project DE? We should at least try that again…

He's about to get cut or have his contract reworked again. They were able to fit in the last rework of his contract under what the NFL views as last year, so he can rework it again to stay with the Saints at a reduced cap hit on a going forward basis. If he wants out, he just has to refuse to rework it and he'll get cut. My guess is the Saints will try to keep him if they can get Carr. Otherwise, they'll cut him.

MT situation
Not sure how much to read into this, but Keyshawn Johnson, who is Michael Thomas' uncle said on NFL live that MT might be 'available'

No telling how much he knows, nor his inside dealings, but I'm guessing he's been told the guy wants out.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows the reason they restructured MT's contract is to make cutting him a little easier.

Period.

MT agreed to restructure in this way, knowing it would lead to his being cut because yes, he wants out of NOLA. And Saints fans might want to prepare for the fact that when he signs with a new team he will be healthy again and be back to his pro bowl WR play capability. (So save all the revisionist history that's bound to come about how the Saints were stupid to cut him and give him away for nothing BS. MT wants out and quit on the Saints to force their hand.)

KJ is no Nostradamus, he is just paying attention.

Saints should've been done cut his arse. The quicker they gut, the quicker they can get a real HC and rebuild around a good QB.

Brees made him look better than he is. Same with every receiver that left

no MT was legitimately good and if anything extended the life of Drew when he was no longer a king maker for WRs at the end.

MT's first injury was mishandled because he's an immature dip shite. I do think he worked his arse off to get back after that and last year was pure shitty luck. If MT wasn't such an a-hole and that injury didn't come off him bungling the first, people wouldn't be as pissed with him.

IF this front office is planning on Carr to keep this thing "afloat" and IF MT is willing to come back at a reduced number, you absolutely keep him. Our WRs as they stand do not elevate the play of Derek Carr a healthy thomas and Olave possibly could though.

He was never gonna have a full season last year. Not sure why fans were tricked into thinking that.

A few months ago there were a handful of posters who fought tooth and nail to defend Mt’s honor when several of us pointed out that he’s quit on the team and may never play for the saints again.

I wonder how those guys feel now that he’s quit on the team and will never play for the saints again.

yep, its just like CGJ deal, everyone wants to bitch how we should have kept him, if a player wants out then its not up to you to keep him, you just try to get anything of value out of the situation before they leave like they did with ceedy. he wasnt staying here under any situation after the way they disrespected him in the watson trade offer by never even bringing him in on the deal to explain what they were doing

claypool was still on a rookie contract, no?

You aren't getting a first for a guy with his injury history and contract. Not a chance in hell

Should have happened before the start of last season. Success tied to Brees.

You can count on this.

But I’m hopeful the karma gods take care of him like they did Galette and his nfl career. Pretty much what he deserves at this point.

Strongly disagree. Two entirely different situations. Ceedy had to have success this year to get his next contract. It was still in his best interest to not cause a distraction and play at a high level or lose a bunch of money. We held the cards, he caused a distraction, we could simply bench him and tank his value. We had all the leverage and gave it away for peanuts.

MT had us by the nuts with the contract he signed. He just became a diva bitch and really there was nothing we could do b/c of his contract and the cap implications.
