Mike Lombardi slams Derek Carr on "GM Shuffle" podcast. "He's not likeable".

The legendary former GM and consummate Vegas gambling insider Mike Lombardi slammed New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr, in a two-segment discussion about likeability of NFL quarterbacks and how it impacts the team.
"This is something you're not gonna prove, but you can feel it. Throws for 300 yards, pick 6, 0 for 5 in redzone. There's no connectivity between Carr and the Saints, and there was very little connectivity in Las Vegas. The receivers don't like him, you can just tell. You've got to make your teammates like you. Nobody is going to say this is true, but the team says it on how they play. Look at Kenny Pickett - the Steelers love him. They play their arse off for him. Carr can't connect. He can't lead his team."
Lombardi then compared Carr to Mac Jones and Zach Wilson and said that the locker room loves Jameis Winston. The Steelers locker room loves Kenny Pickett. The Bucs locker room loves Baker Mayfield. None of these guys are better than Carr, but they are much better leaders.
This goes along with what many of us have been saying.
Regardless of Carr or Jameis, Lombardi and Femi Abebefe both think we need to use Taysom Hill more in the red zone.

Carmichael is too stupid to use Hill more in the red zone...

This can't be true, can it?
Diontae Johnson looked to just be going through the motions.

Just as an observer, he comes off like a phony baloney poseur of how he thinks a franchise QB is supposed to carry himself. Dude ain't a leader of men, whatsoever.

I saw that too. I'd compare that more to Antonio Brown on the Bucs but everybody else loved Brady.
To me, it was pretty clear that when Carr went down in Minneapolis the entire WR group perked up and started balling out for Jameis. I've literally never seen Carr having what looks like a happy interaction with his receivers on the sideline. I've seen Carr gesturing and trying to be a "leader" but it's not like Lamar Jackson laughing and bro-ing it up with his guys.
I did see it with Jameis in that second half v's Vikings, having healthy and fun looking convos with Olave. The sideline started going wild like you see for healthy teams (Denver these last couple weeks).

I’m a proud member of the Hated Carr Since Day One club

I've been thinking along those same lines for a few weeks now. No I don't know if I would totally agree with what Lombardi is saying but there is something off.
Have you noticed how the TV commentators when they talk about his adjustment to New Orleans whether it be learning The playbook and using the plays he likes as opposed to what the coaches want to do isn't that something that they should have had figured out by now? Or like when he said that this is the most hurt he's ever felt during a season physically? It just seems like he goes out in pity for himself is what I seem to notice.
Going back to the TV commentators you know that's what they talk about in the production meeting with the players and coaches. They're just always seems to be I don't want to say an excuse but An adjustment but it's like we're fixing to hit week 13 you know?

Some added context: Lombardi’s son was Carr’s OC last year in Vegas

Doesn’t want to hurt Carr’s feelings.

Diontae is a diva and he should have been kicked off the team after the crap he pulled yesterday.

Carr is an a-hole. Scowling and barking at people all over the field and on the sidelines. If you’re Tom Brady, you can get away with it. When you’re Mr poops the bed every time he’s in the red zone, teammates ain’t putting up with that crap. Loomis and Allen have really sunk this franchise for years, possibly decades. The only way out is if the Saints hit on a really good rookie QB in this draft. Then they can afford to wait Carr’s contract out.

Mother fricking this,
I get what he's trying to say, but Pickett is a TERRIBLE example.

Lombardi doesn’t know shite. The Browns locker room didn’t like Baker and was glad for him to move on from what I read. Maybe he changed his stripes and the Bucs like him.

On top of that he still does his "I don't drink, don't smoke, don't curse and I'll correct teammates who do" bullshite
On a 5-6 team in New Orleans with Dennis and Pete at the helm, scolding teammates for cursing might be the fastest shortcut to making people hate you

Perhaps that’s his way of placating Derek’s insecurities.

Well it’s too fukin bad our GM thought it’s was the Raiders and not Carr before signing the guy like he was the second coming of Drew.

Couldn’t have been the RZ pick six and zero TD drives
