Bruh...he is correct on Davenport...dude has been a bust. If Robert Quinn is on this team he is a difference maker off the edge. Davenport is not.

now that dude is a real beast. Almost unblockable. I still think in time Davenport could develop into a pretty good player. Still can't get sacks and saw him get stonewalled at times and blocked so far out of some plays it was crazy. But I do like the support and optimism for him expressed in this thread

Hendrickson is turning out to be a really good pick though

It depends on how you look at things. You can get guys like Quinn who flat out get to the QB. Typically, those guys don’t defend the run, string out plays, or shallow cover worth a shite.

Davenport is not the 20 sack per season player that the garden variety fan salivates over. He’s probably a 12-15 sack guy at his absolute best. However, he is a complete defensive end. He does it all at a high level. He has been an eye blink away from about 5 sacks this season, and as he continues to develop, the numbers will start to come.

I’ll add that we aren’t exactly lighting shite up in terms of sacks with anyone right now. That tends to happen when you play slippery, mobile QBs like Watson, Wilson, and Prescott.

He's hasn't played poorly by any means, but he hasn't quite been the feared passrusher many hoped he would be when the Saints gave up a 1st rounder for him. That said, he's still very early in his career. I remember Jordan getting a lot of "almost" sacks in his first few years. IIRC, it took him a long time to get his first sack. Now he's one of the best DE's in football.

What he is doing is holding his own on what is one of the most underrated and best DL units in the NFL. Onyemata is a great DT. Brown played his best game as a Saint last night and Rankins is just getting worked back in. Hopefully Hendrickson isn't too banged up. With that front 4 (+depth) this Saints defense can be very, very good each week.

Funny you say that. Volkostarded doubled down on stupid last night and started an actual thread saying he still sucks. So, good luck.

I think I heard on the radio that he’s leading the league in pressures. He’s so close to putting it all together and when he does, watch out.

Defense was superb last night.

We were 1/2 a step away from sacking dak 4-5 times. Davenport was a bully last night.

Definately showing improvement, still has not lived up to what we gave up to get him.

He played above expectations as a rookie and has been a wrecking shop outside of game 1. In game 1 he was playing all over the place due to depth issues at DT, and he still played well.

What would he have to do to "lived up to what we gave up to get him"? He's a great player
