Literally that’s speculative

He didn’t seem to confident about it returning to school with a new QB.

Compare his numbers to Chase, Jefferson, Lamb, Smith Jeudy’s 2018 season.

Ohio State didn't have the QBs that LSU and Saban had.

Literally not true.

Looking at his stats isn’t speculating. They’re there. His 4 year college career happened. It was good but he never put up numbers that Chase, Jefferson, Lamb, Jeudy, Jameson Williams did in a season.

Even when people extrapolate out his stats.

Justin Fields was a first rounder
Stoud might be the first overall pick
Haskins threw 50 TDS and was a first rounder

Olave will have only played with first rounders. Every QB he played with was at time point a top 4 Heisman vote getter.

What have these three done in the NFL? Lambs rookie year he had 935 yds and 5 tds. Are you saying you don't think Olave can produce that? Smith had 916 and 5 tds. Jeudy had 856 and 3 tds. I think Olave is more than capable of putting up those numbers.

It's comical when people make these bold sweeping predictions for players who haven't played a down of NFL football

I think olave will be great with the saints.

Now giving up picks because you had no other way of adding a top receiver is the problem.

This was a draft the saints needed to reload.

They already gave up their first next year and a few more good picks in this draft.

The team next year will be fine. I'm just thinking about 2 or 3 years out.

He barely put up those numbers in the Big 10 what makes you think he’s going to do that in the NFL with Thomas catching 60% of our passes?

Sometimes there is a reason guys don’t put up huge numbers. Thomas was still the #1 WR on his team. But why is Smith-Njigba having an elite season when Olave is senior.

OK he played 11 games in college with two receivers that you and others have said are better than him apparently, so he was splitting targets there. So he can't put up those numbers splitting targets with Michael Thomas playing 17 games? Lol. You're telling people you aren't speculating, but you're saying stupid shite like this.

You’re argument is based on him boding on the NFL what he did in college and you almost always see a drop off unless
Something was holding them back in college.

Thomas wasn’t in the best passing system. Barrett had 100+ Carrie’s every year it was still very much a option based offense.

Look at Kamara who’s skill set was lost in college. What was holding back Olave from putting up monster numbers? Because those LSU receivers played together, those Bama receivers played together and put up good numbers.

He didn’t do what Smith did, which is come back for a 4th year and dominate.

He didn’t play like a #1 NFL Reciever in college and trading up to 11 for a #2 quality guy, I dont Love. So we’re Hoping he exceeds His college play. Which I’m not sure why he would.

No buddy, that's your argument. You're the one that has said "he's not Ceedee Lamb, He's not Ja'marr Chase, he's not Devonta Smith, he's not Jerry Jeudy, he's not Jameson Williams," because he didn't put up seasons like them in college. Because Jerry Jeudy, Devonta Smith, and Jameson Williams haven't done shite in the NFL. Did you not say that? Lol

Your whole post is actually you doing this..

Listen if he doesn’t overperform his college stats he’s at best a WR2 quality WR.

And we just traded a frick ton of picks to take him.

You’re cool with that?

You can literally say all of this about Michael Thomas and numerous other WRs. I guess we should have seen fricking Jerreth Sterns from Western Kentucky go over every other receiver since he led the FBS in receptions, yards and TDs last year right? And Wilson should have gone in the teens too since he only had 5 more receptions and a 100 more yards than Olave.

You’re flaming up the board because you’re having the meltdown of the century because we didn’t take the player you wanted. Grow the frick up

1. We didn’t trade up in the first for Thomas.
2. If he was just a WR2 it would have been fine as a second round pick.
3. As I said Before you can argue he wasn’t in the best passing system at OSU. They were still a run heavy team.

The majority of good WRs either put up insane numbers in college or you can say see an obvious reason why they didn’t. Thomas was in a run heavy offense, Tyreek Hill is a converted RB.

But Olave played in a wide open offense. He played with 2 first rounder QBs and a guy who will be a first rounder. He played 4 years. And he never had an insane season. He’s fast. He is supposed to be an elite route runner. Why isn’t he dominating at a college level? What held him back?

Let’s math. In 11 games last year he finished with 65 catches, 936 yds, and 13 tds. That is on pace for around 100 catches, 1446 yds, and 20 tds in a 17 game nfl season. That is wr 1 numbers baw.

If the other 31 teams draft just Big 10 defenses from 2021 that might work out.

But generally the NFL is a step up.

You see any Big 10 CBs taken in the first last night?
