The fact that this is even a question is astounding. When the Saints traded back into the 1st round the year Lamar was coming out, many experts thought the Saints would draft him. The board would have had an all time melt. We did not want him then. We don’t want him now. He is injury prone and a horrific passer. The Ravens are in the bottom of passing each year. I’d rather have Carr than Lamar.

No, he isn't worth as much as he values himself and he gets hurt often.
It'd be some bullshite 2 years in when his way wasn't working, saints would have to start over again while taking a massive loss.
That's if he was healthy for 2 seasons. Watch wherever he goes or if he stays.

lamar jackson is a great player, but he's not worth the contract or the cap space because of the playstyle that makes him a great player.

So because he can run you want to trade for him because it will be fun to watch. Daniels is a better passer and reads defenses better than Jackson does now.

I wouldn't go that far. There were comments basically implying Jayden Daniels = Lamar, and another poster saying Carr is a superior QB in almost every way to Lamar.

Carr’s arm will likely last another 5-7 seasons.

Carr’s TD% is a mediocre 4.4%. Jameis is 4.9% and Dalton is at 4.5% for reference. Carr is a 64.6% passer
Jackson’s career INT% is the same as Drew Brees, 2.3%
Now keep in mind that Carr has only won 44% of his games, while Oakland built offenses around him - Crabtree, Cooper, Waller, Jacobs, Devante, Renfrow etc.
Consider Jackson has won 74% while carry the offense on his back
No one with any inkling of football intelligence would think Carr was a better option than Jackson

You really posting those stats as proof? Lol. How many pass attempts does Lamar have compared to those players? Are they equal or less than?
Are you talking about all of Carr career or only compared to when Lamar entered the league in 2018?
Mahomes ( not Mahkmes) has thrown the ball 2993 compared to Lamar 1655 pass attempts and entered the league one year earlier. So Lamar is not even close to Mahomes level. None of the stats you provided are equal to one another.

And that’s simply not true. It might not even true in terms of accuracy.
Do y’all remember the matchup between the Raiders last year? We played like shite and beat a fully healthy Raiders team 24-0 at least partly bc Carr was a frickin bum all game.
By contrast, the Ravens offense was very injured and starting a backup tight end Likely and Lamar still orchestrated the hell out of the game. Every time they needed a play, he made it. And they beat the absolute shite out of us bc of it.
Yes, Lamar is a headcase. Yes. He’s an injury risk. But Lamar is going to be better for the next 3-5 years than Carr. That is undebatable. And given Carr’s rapid decline last season, I’m not even sure we can say Carr is going to be better in 7 years than Lamar. I honestly think they both will be out of the league by then.
Jayden Daniels: Nice Kid. Not a bad college QB. He does not have the speed or build of Lamar to survive the NFL though. I do like the kid, but unless he really improves his defense reading and actual QB play, I don’t think he’s a good enough scrambler to actually rely upon that at the NFL level. I do like him for LSU though. He’s on the whole a lot more reliable and trustworthy than Nuss despite Nuss’s pure passing peak being higher. Nuss just makes a lot of bad decisions with the football. Jayden gets confused and he tucks, runs and gets positive yards. Nuss gets confused and he yolo’s a ball into double or triple coverage anyway.

Are we reading the same thread. There was 1 poster that said that. There are a few that said they’d take Carr over Lamar because of the cost. But even if you include them, it’s still not more than half of the posters
