I'd rather a TE.
I thought Ginn had a helluva year myself. There were some concerns about his catching ability I think yet his catch rate in 2017 kicked the shite out of any other year he's had with other clubs.

Still too many other needs to spend that kind of money on a WR - I trust the Saints to find a cheaper alternative either through FA or draft
I’m not saying Landry is a need, but the team does need another multi route option outside of Thomas. If Thomas were to miss a game or two, we would see below average execution in the Saints passing game. Ginn play beyond expectations, but he’s leaning more to the twilight of his career.

I’d rather we sign Jordan Matthews. He’s bigger and faster and in this offense he’d be a badass. Plus he’d be cheaper
Get that madden shite out of here
Matthews isn’t half of the WR that Jarvis is

No way. Not for the money he will command. If we didn’t have Thomas I’d be all about it. We have a much better and more complete receiver in Thomas who we will have to pay soon enough. We can spend half or less on a decent wr fa who does some different things than MT and figure out what’s going on with Snead. If his head is right we can likely have him for much less than we would’ve a year ago. Wr2+Burton >>>>Landry when we have Thomas

There is no way the Saints will spend a ton of money on a slot receiver. That’s a position they have always gone cheap on. You can forget this move. It won’t happen and it shouldn’t given how much Landry wants.

But he would be way cheaper

If Lester has a problem with it he can meet me at Sonic.

You don't learn. Jarvis is the bomb. With that being said, I think he'll be too expensive and it probably would not be in our best interest. I'd rather waste 42 million on Jarvis instead of Coby Fleener though.

If I'm spending 6-8mil, I rather take a flyer on Watkins or Wilson.
The cooks-Thomas combo was phenomenal, we need to be able to replicate it and I think Richardson can do that.

Jarvis Landry’s stats
Now realize these are Moore’s and Snead’s peak years. CHEAP castaways no one wanted. Also realize you have Michael Thomas
Moore’s best year
104 targets / 65 catches / 1041 yards / 6 TDs at 16 yards/rec
Moore also caught 8 TDs x2 and 10 another time
Snead
101 targets / 69 catches / 984 yards / 3 TDs at 14 yards/ rec
These guys were more productive on a per target basis. A Landry truther will tell you he played with cutler or tannehill.. but they are throwing 3-4 yard passes to Landry, that’s who he is. It’s not like they are wasting his potential, that’s exactly what he’s good at. You cannot hang your hat on all the receptions!! and at the same time say he didn’t play w anyone. He’s catching passes almost at the LOS

Fleener and Brandon Coleman had more 20 yard catches than Landry last year. Give me your theory on that.
4.72 doesn't eat

purple and gold glasses. Landry would be a welcome addition, if he would be half the price he is asking for. If they want a fringe "blue chip" type of name, go after Ziggy Ansah.
Ziggy on the D line, with a guy like Matthews added at WR. Maybe sign a guy like Butler to play CB2/Nickel, who knows.
or
Landry added for 12-14 mil

Landry and Snead are almost carbon copies of one another. Landry is a better runner after the catch though. I’m sure under Payton, Landry would see an increase in yards per catch easily.

Forgot his name but get the backup veteran TE from Philly, and draft a TE in the 3rd. Saints would have those 2 and Hill, then figure out what to do with Fleener.

Fleenor and Coleman didn't have Jay freakin Cutler at QB.

Fleener and Coleman had 23 and 22 catches respectively
Landry had 112 chances to break runs longer than 20 yards

I thought I posted this much earlier in the thread. Stats ..
If you don’t know about Landry go to YouTube and watch his highlights. They have translated to the NFL and he is a beast.
Steve Smith, maybe the same bit of salt.

Many of you are still missing the point. He’s just not worth the price tag.
Posted on 2/17/18 at 9:55 pm to 1BamaRTR
Not only that, but comparing Jarvis to Steve Smith is ridiculous. And I really like Jarvis. Would love the guy on this team but he isn’t worth that asking price. Mike is worth that.
