What point, why not the price tag and why with the next post is he not like Steve Smith?

Why?

Does his college and NFL production not substantiate his worth?

No. How do you not get this? You don’t pay $10M or more (probably far more) for a no.2 WR who probably is not going to put up more than 1200 yards at the very most. ESPECIALLY when we have needs on defense. WE NEED DEFENSE. Jordan was still our only consistent pass rusher last year.

You sign him then you have less money to sign players on defense AS WELL as resigning players like Okafor and Brees. You can get another receiver for a third of the cost who will probably up 700-800 yards on this offense.

Not to mention we’ll have to give Thomas a big arse contract in a few years too.

I want to sign him on if we had substantial cap space or if he was going for way less but neither of that is true. You guys are overestimating his value. Again pretty good player but he isn’t an A.J. Green or OBJ.

Think of it this way, we will have one of the best Offensive Lines in the NFL next season. We will have an awesome 1-2 punch with Ingram and Kamara in the running game.

Now what team would be able to cover a deep threat in Ginn and Thomas and Jarvis working underneath with the threat of a screen pass at anytime to Ingram or Kamara.

No team in the NFL would be able to defend this offense.
So I say make it happen. Sign Jarvis. Maybe Drew will agree to a lesser contract to make the signing of Jarvis possible.

Dude, do you really think paying Jarvis Landry 14 mil per year to be Saint is worth it?

I never said to give him 14m ... I just want to Saints to go after him. Just because he is asking for that amount doesn’t mean he will get it.

Again, I never said, the Saints should pay JL 14-16m

Jarvis is not worth number one wide receiver money period. Mike is better and more dynamic. If we were paying 12-14 m for someone other than Thomas they sure as hell better be able to get down the field a bit as well....hell they better be a clear cut top 10 threat.

Like going for under a thousand yards on a hundred catches?

Jarvis is one of my favorite tigers but he is not this dynamic playmaker. He got a frickload of volume thrown his way. Paying him would be something a stupid franchise does.

Steve Smith, maybe the same bit of salt.

Jesus man. Steve smith could regularly split coverage and break big plays. He was exponentially more dynamic and faster than Landry.

Landry is a great player and would be a big addition.

That being said, there are some WR hungry teams flush with cap space that are going to give him insane money. I don’t think he would make enough of a difference in our offense to drop insane money on him. We need to wait out the initial wave of WRs, it’s deep enough that there will be good players to be had at decent contracts.

If we make a move on a big name WR, id try to move a mid round pick or two for Josh Gordon. Maybe a fourth and second fourth or third based on production/behavior.

More than likely unless he is just itching to play with Brees and the Saints for a couple of years. Fingers crossed of course.

You really think he would a take several million dollar pay cut just to play for us? Because even 10m is still too much and there’s no way he goes for anything below that.

I don't really give a shite about the money. How much were we just paying Fleener who didn't show close to what Landry has?

We don't have to pay Thomas elite money for another two years. As long as she potential deal with Landry gave us the option to bail after those two years.

People get all worked about monopoly money when Loomis has signed whoever we've wanted.

* how much we are still paying fleener

And you don’t give a shite about the money when we have to operate under the salary cap?

You got arguably the best team in the NFC coming back for another year. We are middle of the road in cap space and haven’t signed Drew yet. Wouldn’t you want to spend the rest of our money on potential difference makers? All of our competitors will be out there getting better.

But he also good return man that wat bring his value up. I agree with you just as a #2 wr that’s to much but by him being a rigid return guy his worth look how many punt he took back for TD in his short career

At the time? Sure. I thought he'd step right in and be productive considering how much we use the TE in the passing game. But he's been a major disappointment

I would love this but realistically, give me a weapon at TE and re-sign Snead.

He has one punt return TD while averaging 9 yds/PR. Also 27 yds/KR with 0 KR TDs. Doesn’t bring up his value by several million.

U said albert wilson is more efficient than jarvis landry cause he is cheaper but it took him 66 targets to catch 42 balls that is prettty much the same as landry needing 160 to catch 100 lol
