Granted, I'm not the biggest Carr fan. But have to wonder what chance he has had to put up big numbers. Saints' o-line is below average, if not bottom 5 this season.

Where would you rank the Saints' pass catchers in team rankings?

I would think:

WR1: 25th
WR2: 30th
WR3-5: 32nd
TE: 25th
RB: 10th

I can't imagine any QB could put good numbers in Carr's position.

and then you can talk about not a great O line probably but the easiest route to take is to cry like a brat about carr not being top 5 enough for your liking.

There are some guys that even with a great offense around them, they will still stink.

And there are guys that with a great offense around them will be perfectly fine. Carr is one of those guys.

He cannot elevate a team like a Drew Brees.

Brees had several oline changes and oline injuries throughout his career and managed

It's amazing how one oline can affect the entire offense, Penning is a disaster and he is not going to hold up at RT and that spells disaster for Carr

They gave Carr all that money and then gave him trash to work with.

Saints have the worst WR Room in the NFL.

If Kamara doesn’t step up and have a career year, it’s gonna be ugly. The rest of the RB’s are a waste.

TE’s are lean too.

The saints WR group isn’t close to the worst

The patriots would kill for Shaheed

This is an interesting way to consider the Saints' offense. Thanks! One can quibble over where and how you rank each position, but it is hard to say that Carr has first rate weapons at his disposal.

There are 32 teams in the league and you just stated that the Saints have 3 of the top 32 WRs in the same breath as stating that Carr has no weapons. There's so much wrong in your entire OP. If I am misreading what you are trying to say, please correct me.

I think OP is saying WR1 is ranked 25th against all WR1. WR2 is ranked 30th amongst all WR2, and the team's WR3-5 are the worst in the league

It's gonna be ugly. Olave/Taysom are only productive guys from past 2 years.

If Kamara doesn't turn it around we will have nothing for the run game.

Ah, ok then. It was awkwardly worded and read funny to me.

Carr is getting an NFL shot. Fair or unfair it is what it is.

No he not a QB that can elevate his team like Brees but few are. It's not a deal breaker though there are far more super bowl winning QBs that were good QB' on great teams that there are great QB's on great teams.

I don't think I've ever seen Carr on a team that would be considered a super bowl caliber team that he just couldn't get them there. His teams have been pretty much like what you see right now so to say he can't be that QB on a great team is just speculative at best.

But I wouldn't feel too sorry for him, I also wouldn't put him in the category of one of the really good QBs to never make a super bowl either.

The Saints are fighting through a lot of problems right now, as most of us who follow the Saints objectively know they would following the Brees/Payton era. It's going to be a bumpy road but as I said in another thread this year and next will be much more enjoyable if you stop looking at he record and look at the the young talent they have developing.

We were a top 10 offense last year (ppg). We just couldn't score late in games or when it mattered. We have the talent but lacked the scheme last year. We will be a MUCH better offense this year.

you are saying that 24 teams have a better first option over Olave?

Sorry for the confusion.

I was giving the team rankings for each position.

Yes, roughly.

Most rankings would have Olave in the mid-upper 20s in receiver rankings, but some teams have two guys rated higher than him so 25 is about right.

Hate to throw out a double negative, but I don’t disagree with you OP.

Carr has a checked out RB, a 1st round WR that plays like a #2, a pretty brutal surrounding cast at WR/TE, and one of the worst Oline’s in football.
Taysom Hill is one of the only players on this offense that I struggle to find something negative to say. McCoy is decent. J.Johnson is decent when available.

It’s in the bottom 5. Perry and Means won’t be in the league in 2 years.

Olave is a decent 2, Shaheed can stretch the field and will give you the occasional home run but he isn’t a 90 catch 1200 yard guy by any stretch.
