They like comparing him to Hurts but he won a heisman with one team

Jalen Hurts won a Heisman? Did I miss something?

Everyone saying no to Anthony at 29 would have said no to Lamar Jackson at 32.
You absolutely take him if he’s there.
Right, because Lamar won a Heisman and was far more effective throwing and running the ball and played 3 years in college.

Righ, Lamar was actually an effective college QB. I think some fans actually wanted him. The elephant in the room was Drew Brees. He still had 2-3 years left and nobody was super hyped about spending a pick on a QB as we were trying to win a super bowl.
If Lamar was on the board right now, everyone would 100% be on board to grab him.
Richardson is not Lamar though. Every year we see this happen and still every year we have posters get fooled and think a guy that can’t play QB in college can magically start playing it well in the nfl against bigger, stronger, faster and more intelligent coaches and athletes.

The only reason he’s suddenly talk of the town is sus. Somebody distracting because they taking another QB.
He’s got the height, size, arm, etc but is he really that good? He didn’t do well at Florida. Jayden Daniels would get drafted before him if he entered

For the reasons below, I actually am fairly certain AR won’t be available at 29. Some team is going to fall in love with him and take him top 15.
But we should absolutely take him if he’s there. Richardson has the highest upside of any QB in this class or last year’s. If he pans out, he’s a more athletic Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen. If he doesn’t, you only burned the 29th pick as opposed to a top 10 pick. The potential rewards outweighs the risk.
Go rewatch this guy’s game tape at UF. He makes things happen on the football field that very athletes can do. And it was only his FIRST year starting. Take him in Round 1 so you get the 5th year option and let him learn/grow. Again reward > risk here. This team needs a franchise changing QB and he’s the only guy we “may” be in position to get.

quote:When I watched LSU play Florida, I was a bit surprised how bad their WRs were. Like someone else mentioned, their best guy was the white ASU transfer. They had good RBs, but subpar (especially for Fla standards) WRs.
I already touched on Allen’s accuracy issues and scouts blamed his horrible receivers & supporting cast. Is that Richardsons issues? An SEC power had the same receiver talent as Wyoming? Is that what you are saying?
I saw Richardson make a few plays, and then make a few boneheaded plays. I really wasn't impressed with the scheme they used him in.
I'm not a big Richardson fan, and think it's silly that he's that highly regarded. But he COULD have been just stuck in a bad situation.

I'm a big JD fan but that is absolutely not true. No team would draft him over Richardson.

So much for him plummeting now

perspective on Anthony Richardson's size:
Anthony Richardson: 6'4”, 244 lbs
George Kittle: 6'4", 247 lbs
Derrick Henry: 6'3”, 247 lbs
Von Miller: 6'3”, 246 lbs
Ben Roethlisberger: 6'5”, 241 lbs
Cam Newton: 6'5”, 248 lbs
Pretty stupid athleticism for a QB that size
If he can’t hack it at QB you’ll probably see a pivot to a Terrelle Pryor/Matt Jones/Taysom Hill type role

Those deep balls were consistently on the money, 60-65 yards every time.
If he can step up in the pocket and trust his linemen, he could do serious damage with Olave and Shaheed over the top. If he's the only QB left of the big 5 at 29, I wouldn't be upset if we took him.

He looked part at combine today. Does he has decision makings as QB?

After the combine today Vegas now has this guy going as the first QB to be taken and this board does doesn’t even want him at 29
Posted on 3/4/23 at 6:54 pm to oncealurker
Vegas once had Jamarcus Russell as the #1 QB to be taken, too

Well if Vegas has him there, he must be the best

Does this surprise you? Most people here don’t understand players are actually allowed to get better and what you see isn’t what you get. It’s why they circlejerk over 25 year olds.

Now he probably needs to frick up predraft to even make it to pick 9.

Vegas only cares about odds not ability. Jamarcus Russell was once the number overall pick and after watching his career at LSU, I knew he had no business going in the first round much less first overall.

Name one NFL QB who was good, who sucked in college.
I don’t get it.

Watch the film. It never lies. Vegas is Vegas. They make money on people being stupid.
People are overthinking this one. Dude sucks. Spending pick 29 on an obvious bust, when we have limited draft capital would be retarded.
