Queen had one great game on the biggest stage. He was invisible against Auburn and Oklahoma and only showed up vs Texas when rushing the passer.
He had 7 tackles vs. Auburn, 2nd on the team that day. 8 tackles vs. Oklahoma, tied for the team lead plus 1.5 TFL. Against Texas he had 6 tackles and .5 TFL while he was still splitting time with Divinity.

Kenneth Murray is far and away the better football player.
6’2”
241 lb
4.52 40
38” vert
129 broad
3 year starter, great character guy
Why is a physical freak w no character issues being mocked to the back end of the first? Versus a guy like Devin White who goes in the top 5. Instincts? Playmaking ability? Coverage?
When comparing his stats to Queen’s, realize Murray played 90% of Oklahoma’s defensive snaps.. ya he got counting numbers.
At LB you gotta get past Ike simmons, Baun, Queen before your start talking about Murray. REMEMBER rocky calmus!?

From PFF:
quote:
With all the athleticism in the world, it’s a wonder why he hasn’t been more of a playmaker in coverage over the course of his career. He allowed 82.4% of his targets to be completed in his time at Oklahoma and broke up only 4 of 102 targets with no picks.
quote:
While he may not be a complete linebacker, Queen excels in the right area: coverage. He is about as smooth as it gets at the position and only allowed 24-34 targets for 186 yards and 12 first downs last season. Those are as good a collection of stats as you’ll see in coverage at the linebacker position in this draft.

Deion Jones didn’t make a single play for 3 seasons at LSU
I think you have him confused with Danielle Hunter. I was hoping the saints would draft Jones in the third if he slipped down. He was projected late 2nd to 3rd round. He showed elite closing speed and laid big time wood. I just don’t see it with Queen. I’m fine if we took him with our 3rd but no way in hell in the first.

Lol. He had 9 tackles in the bowl game last year. shite, he had 9 in the OM game, 8 in the OU game and 7 at Auburn. The games you think he “disappeared” in. He never had less than 6 in any game that he wasn’t taken out of early because LSU was blowing the other team out.
Idiot.
And I NEVER said he was better than Murray dumbshit. Just that he’s a legit first round prospect. The entire football establishment agrees with me.

Interesting
One may surmise that Murray is close to his peak in development, whereas as Queen is just scratching the surface as a former RB

A high functioning ape can read numbers off a stat sheet. Tackles 5 yards downfield doesn’t mean shite anymor. How many plays behind the LOS in the run game has he made in his career? Please point me to a game bc I haven’t found it
Great straight line athlete don’t get me wrong, but if you’re looking for a guy to have a major impact for the Saints next year the we shouldn’t be looking for a KING not a Queen
DRIVEMAN OUT

Or maybe Queen peaked on a great team with great players while Murray was held back by being the only good player on a terrible defense.
See, I can do it too.
There’s no telling who will be the better of the two. Queen took a back seat on defense until White left and Divinity was took his leave. He played okay this year. He didn’t play great against Utah State or Ole Miss or Vandy. He had a good game at Auburn and was okay against bama. He was really good against UGA and Oklahoma. He was phenomenal against Clemson.

So, Queen had 12 and Murray had 17 but Murray was used in coverage less so he was at the line a lot more.

Queen was the best player on defense in 2018 vs Alabama, and again against UCF. Hardly just a 1 year wonder.
Go check the tape

Jesus, you are stupid. The kid had 12.5 tfl’s and 3 sacks. Not quite as good as Murray, but pretty damn good considering he had 2 less starts and much better athletes around him. He’s a first rounder. Should I come back to gloat when he’s taken in the first?
You sound like a real world beater... Personal sig, self upvotes and all.

So best in the biggest games and the game he was just okay in he made a humongous play.

He was the best player on the field on defense for the second straight year against bama
And Chaisson & Lawrence both played great
Did you miss his game changing INT before half??
Just “okay”? What in the ever living frick did you watch?

Yeah, the douche knocking Queen because “film” is a rare form of stupid. He shines on tape.

Queen is one of the youngest players in the draft, a former RB until he got to college, who progressively got better as he played more. There are some good reads on The Athletic about his development and the want to be the best
quote:
See, I can do it too.
It doesn’t work. Two players said to be in the same range. One a veteran three year starter with freak measures, one a young, green LB with limited starts with room to grow. The fact that they are even in the same discussion says a lot imo
Fans put too much stock into one game, good and bad

He was the best defender on the field against Clemson too.
I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand here. Queen is perfect for the NFL.

Shhhh. The retards think you have to hate Murray to like Queen.
Posted on 3/29/20 at 5:25 pm to southdowns84
Yup.
And he’s only 20(9mo younger than Murray)And has played only 3 years full time at LB.
If you project him into Y2 & Y3 in the nfl, he’s going to be a problem for offenses.

No, it’s a debate on who will be the better NFL player, Murray or Queen.
I’m saying I don’t know. I learned my lesson from Jarvis Jones that I can’t predict who will be great and who won’t. I’m just saying that there are positives and negatives to both these guys. But know it alls like LE and Gyno know the future and can’t say there are any question marks about Queen. Hell, I’m not sure why Queen isn’t going top 5!

What
I never said I knew who would be better. I rattled off a laundry list of superlatives about Murray too.
The thread is debating the two. I said I like Queen better. I never said he didn’t have question marks. He’s got a lot of work to do. I plainly stated he was green at the position
Every player in the history of the game has positives and negatives. Not sure what touched a nerve with you?
