Where are you seeing that? Most mocks I’ve seen and podcasts, stories, etc. has the Jets taking Reese at 2. NFL Mock Draft Database

The Jets are projected to take Arvell Reese from Ohio State at No. 2, and they could use him as a hybrid edge rusher/linebacker.

McShay said he’s locking it in for Bailey at #2 based off his sources

I really hope not. Not a first for Reese. So much talent to be had at 8 . I say they should sit tight and take a stud and keep next years first. I’d be sick if they gave up next years first for Arvell Reese. He may be an absolute monster but he might also be a dud burger like Davenport.

First, fair value would be 8 overall and our 2nd for 3 overall and their 4th. We aren't trading up to 2 or 1 where the value gets a bit ridiculous.

Second, why would we trade up when the value is better just sitting still?

Agree. Especially if he's from a non-P4 school or has had a major injury.

Just got to point out that Todd McShay is thinkin' what I'm thinkin'

McShay Mock 4.0

Instead of next years 1st, Todd has the Saints giving up this year's and next year's 2nd rounders to move up to pick 3 for Reese.

Wonder how much is this because this is what McShay believes will happen from his connections, or is it because he knows Loomis is aggressive and he’s just taking a chance to say he called it.

Also makes me wonder if he has some leaks with AZ and this “guess” came about because Mickey was doing his usual let me call everyone above us to see what it may take to move up.

He said it’s 2 things
1. He knows Arizona is desperate to trade back
2. Mickey has a history of trading up to get his guy

No actual intel

And it would be idiotic. This team is far from one player away so why make a trade up like that?

This team needs those second rounders.

With no QBs or generational talents at edge or OT available, I think the price to move up within the top 10 will be significantly less than most years. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints could move from 8 to 3 for just our 2nd round pick. The Cardinals need a right tackle and may draft one at 3 anyway - why not move back to 8, get the same RT plus another starter with our 2nd round pick? Cleveland also needs OL and would like to move back, though a move from 6 to 8 for a 4th or something may not be worth their while. Maybe we could throw Cesar Ruiz at them.

No, No, No! Stickpile as many picks as possible over the next 3-4 drafts. We should have been doing this for the last 3 drafts. Super Bowl winners are the teams with the most draft picks the previous 5 years.

I am not saying we should trade up for him, but it seems multiple teams are trying to trade back, so there is a deal to be had. Also, if you think Reese is the next Parsons, you just go up and get him and worry about the rest later.

No, hope not. Still too many holes to fill. We can get cute and trade up to draft LBs once we have a legit NFL roster. More "best man available" should be the approach this year.

Mickey has a history of trading up an average pick of #27. We don't trade up Top 10 picks. Are we drafting 27th? This holds absolutely no weight at all. We were contenders for 15 years drafting towards the end of the draft.
