Well no fricking shite!! That can be said about EVERY athlete in EVERY sport. We got a stud player and it seems like he’s even a better person. I’m excited.

The issue is the Saints medical team doesnt have the best track record with keeping players healthy and recovering when they get hurt.

Sure, but the saying is especially relevant for particular players with a long injury history. While you may hate it, the statement is still on point.

The reality is this: we just drafted what could be a phenomenal receiver as long as he bucks his own personal history and stays healthy. Our top 3 WRs are all players that struggle to do so though.

No one says that about players who aren’t perpetually injured

Well his injuries aren’t recurring so he’s just as likely now as anyone else drafted to be hurt. Kid just had shite luck. Had he not had that shite luck there’s zero chance he woulda made it to 8

The ACL and clavicle are completely fluke injuries that have no bearing on whether Tyson will be healthy going forward.

The only real concern is his hamstrings as that is the most recent and being susceptible to soft tissue injuries is something that can be recurring. But we’ve seen players with that same concern end up as all-pro players with decade long careers, including multiple seasons of 15-16 games played. Most notably for us is obviously Lattimore and then as a receiver comp OBJ and Mike Evans.

Did those players have hamstring issues pop up recurringly throughout their careers? Yes. Were they also perennial all-pros and all-stars who every team would consider home run draft picks? Yes.

Booger said this on ESPN as Tyson walked down the hall to the stage:

"Do you know what the injury rate is in the NFL? 100%"

Everyone will get injured at some point.

I mean have you watched either NOLA professional team in the last 20 years? It would be insane to not be a little skeptical of a player with an injury history.

Tyson's film looks great, but I am going to damper my expectations based on his injury history. Instead of an A+ pick give it just an A.

Possibly, but having that many injuries is a sign of a body that can't take the beating, a player that doesn't know how to protect his body or a combination of the two. While it does sound like his is a tough dude that tries to play through pain, a blown knee, broken bones and 2 hamstring injuries is not something to write off as just bad luck.

I love the potential we have with this pick, but acting as if his long injury history is nothing to be concerned with is seeing things through black and gold blinders. This is a pick that is a huge risk with potential of massive payout.

My big concern is that we have been taking these chances on injury prone players for a few years now, and so far it has not played out to our advantage.

That's not the argument tho. It's how often will he be injured?

Agree. Loomis gambling like Dumars did last year with his Queen trade.

No denying he’s a talented player. But it’s a huge gamble.

And then we could have drafted Tate (if Tenn drafts Tyson before us).
