but lets be honest, the Rams got the playoff win over us so they could have the shot since LA got the new stadium and the NFL moved offices there. coincidence?
What do the Rams have to do with what I asked? And you answered no, to what I asked. The Saints didn't get anything "gifted" to them in 2009. And why wouldn't it have happened in 2006 instead?

prolly not. they blew 1 and the NFL blew the other . 2011 and 2018
Let's be honest, the Saints and arrogant SP blew both years. frick the refs and the NFL for the blown call in the NFCCG, but the reality is it should't have been that close of a game. The entire game changed when the Saints didn't even think that a young and smart, somewhat of a gambler coach like SP, was going to call a fake punt. That game was on the way to a potential blowout. Then you have Drew short-arming throws and other missteps and you rely on zebras to give you a fair shake. The Saints should have a minimum of 3 SB's rings. Choking in the playoffs has consequences.

I’d be surprised if the Saints are still in NOLA by 2035, so I’ll say not happening again.
Sadly, New Orleans is no longer a NFL city with shitty leadership, infrastructure, and driving business out almost daily.

How long will it take Drew Brees to be reincarnated?

Salieri should be wheeled through the Saints’ FO:

There's no telling, but I know it won't be with this owner group

Watching Saints SB win on NFL Network now.
Doesn’t matter if they ever win another SB; nothing will ever match it.

Feels like Gayle and Loomis would have to no longer be around since Gayle will never get rid of him because she is not a competitive owner and he enjoys being safe with his job not blowing up the team and rebuilding thus staying in cap hell until he is gone.

Realistically. They need new leadership and have got to get the bad contracts off the books to get younger. And they’ve got to draft well.
I still think we’re going to have to have a tank year where we bite the bullet and eat the dead cap space to start fresh, maybe pick up a solid draft position.

We’ll see on that. Watch the Kamara contract dispute closely, if we extend can kick a 29 YO RB in decline you’ll know they have no intention of a bite the bullet approach.
Restructuring Carr was your first tip this approach isn’t a consideration.

I don't think they can bite the bullet because of the way the cap is structured. Sure, the cap has been manipulated to work in 2024 w $11M in cap space. But they are already $100M over next year's projected cap space. Which means they HAVE to restructure a lot of these deals, including Carr's. And with only $26.5M in projected cap space in 2026, it has to be a multi-year effort to begin getting under the cap.
With that said, I also do not believe this staff (Coaching & front office) will ever go into a season thinking this is when we start fixing the roster until there is a major change within the NFC South. Until a team really takes that next step forward to take control of the division, as bad as we are, they really are right there from being division champs. Looking at the makeup of the South, who is your clear front runner? Bryce Young & Carolina, Atl w a HC that has a barely better record than DA, trusting Baker to be the guy to take over the South?

probably 20+
I'd say you need a franchise QB to make a run. We not only have to get one, we then would need to build around him.
