If you don't plan on paying Davenport, or simply can't afford him, he would be the ideal person to trade. You can make due with Turner and Granderson and hope Cam gives you another good year or two.

McCoy would be the next best asset. Perhaps they think Ruiz is struggling because he isn't playing Center. You are about to have to pay McCoy top money as well.

It would hurt losing Davenport and McCoy, but you would probably see them wanting huge deals and leaving anyway, so why not trade them and let Houston pay them. They are both from Texas I believe, so there may be some want from Houston there.

No, but he's not that far off. Watson had also played for a trash team.

Agree. That's way too much. Watson isn't good enough to take a team with no other talent anywhere and that's about where we'd be.

We'd just be the Texans all over again.

I would argue his last season he was Pat Mahomes good. The dude threw for damn near 5k yards and over 30 TDs after Houston traded Hopkins and fired O'Brien. His top targets were Cooks, Will Fuller and Randall Cobb.

I don't think Mahomes could have done much better with that group.

So our team just disappears as soon as we trade 2 lineman and 5 picks? Are you fricking stupid or something?

Just completely ignore the top 5 defense lol

They definitely don't want to give up davenport. It does look like he might be in the deal.

Hopefully we can hold onto one of him or mccoy.

My guess is the compensation is so crazy cause the panthers are throwing everything they have in the pot.

Tough is finding a franchise QB in his prime. You do what you gotta do to make the deal happen

Is almost as valuable as Watson. This would be a hard no for me. The rest are all acceptable though.

It would be ridiculous to be honest.

Take him and Peat, they're really good building blocks for your future OL Houston, trust me

I agree with this. McCoy is good, but coming to the end of his deal and is replaceable. Ram is a key lineman we need to keep around as long as possible.

IMO Ram is the only untouchable on this team if we're pursuing a top 5 QB.

the panthers roster is already weak, if they throw everything they've got I would say that weakens them in Watson's eyes so the value of that no trade clause helps us here.

We can put a nice offer together that compensates the Texans well AND keeps our roster pretty strong.

Per OTC, the impact would be

Ramczyk: $33M dead money, would cost $25M in cap space (can't move)
Ruiz: $3.4M dead money, saves $67k
Davenport: $1M dead money, saves $8.5M
McCoy: $600k dead money, saves $2.8M
Onyemata: $9M dead money, saves $3.8M

That would lose its all pro safety and one of its top all-around DEs. This defense will not be as good next year if the Daints give up that much to get Watson and likely takes a step back as is even without taking Watson.

That is a really stupid deal for the Saints. They could give up far less and get the #1 draft pick if they are that desperate.

Watson is fools gold! Stats are padded in junk time after games are already decided. Under pressure of making a play in crunch time Watson chokes and makes dumb mistakes far more than he makes a big game saving play.

Fuller missed last 5 games of season due to suspension, Cobb missed last 6 games of season due to injury. So at the end, he had 1 legit weapon

If we give up Davenport, do we still have to give up the first rounders since he's essentially 3 firsts right?

no

Also there’s no Burrow in this years draft. Again, we’re talking about a 26 years old franchise QB. Those are never available for trade.
