@GHartley5: I would like to start off by saying I have been blessed with the opportunity that the @Saints & ownership have given me.

@GHartley5: The memories that were made with this team will live in my heart forever! I can't say enough for my teammates and their support..

@GHartley5: And finally the Who Dat Nation. Y'all's passion for the game and this team are second to none.. It's been an honor to wear the Black & Gold.

I can't stand Hartley.

And I now feel bad about it.

That's awesome

As others have mentioned, don't be surprised if he finds a way back on this team

The kid has a monster leg, so he will get a shot elsewhere. I wouldn't mind having him back whenever he gets his consistency down, but I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. Hopefully this will be enough to get him on the right track.

I don't hate the guy. Glad he's no longer the kicker but I'll always be appreciative of the kick.

The kick will always stay with me.

Saints gave him every opportunity, but his inconsistency caught up with him...

I wouldn't either, SP even said we might see him again at some point. I hope he gets his head straight and confidence back.

That last kick was indicative of how bad it has gotten for Hartley.

Kickers these days are so consistent. A duck huck 20 feet off the ground just doesn't happen.

He had to go. There were no other options. He has a LONG road ahead of him to get back in the league. Every team wants consistency. Raw talent isn't nearly enough these days.

He will be immortalized forever in New Orleans lore for his kicks for 2009.

He killed the aints with one kick and helped make them world champions with three more.

To Hartley.
