You realize the going rate for MIKE GLENNON! this year is 16 million dollars right?

It's an expensive position...

Just want to make sure you aren't a complete dumbass

We are talking NFL players here, part of the largest money grab outside of Wall St. in US History. (I guess the MLB and NBA could be included in this). These guys aren't giving up shite, they make insane FU money, some for POOR performance. At what job does that happen, EVER.

Does that mean 18m already on the books for him next year before his contract?

IF he becomes a FA, yes. $6 mil is on there, and another $12 mil accelerates if he hits FA.

But if we extend him before FA the contract doesn't void and the $18 mil is spread out evenly into 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Being really honest, there's not many high tier nonqb free agents this upcoming offseason.

Bell
Graham
Trumaine Johnson
Butler
Jeffery
Sheldon Richardson
Nate Solder
Tyler Eifert
Poe

Nothing really exciting.

Back loading might not even be necessary

I think the 20-24 million dollar range will be what he is expecting.
How are the saints going to resign everyone?

He probably sees the opportunity to get into the front office with the Benson ownership situation. That is what he should be angling for.

If Jimmy wants to come home for a ring then bring him home.

Draft another DT/DE or LB.

Win again.

The GB situation wasn’t all that awful. Didn’t Rodgers understudy Favre for like 4 years? If the Saints find their Rodgers I’m okay with forcing Drew out in four years when he’s 42.
