Because other teams could move up

i just don't see how niners pass on lynch to be honest.
Baalke is in charge but many say his job is on the line so I don't think developmental QB in the first round fits his needs right now. Kelly may want it, but Baalke probably doesn't.

Fap fap fap...But uncredible source is uncredible

Sounds like someone took my idea....

That's not even a debatable question. You take that every fricking day of the year. No questions asked.

What's the cap situation with him?
Tagged. Something like a $15M for this year. A new very large contract would have to be worked out in advance and a physical taken by the new team.
This trade is just unrealistic. He would be traded for a pick, not a swap. if Lynch is not there how do the Jets back out after having Wilkerson negotiate a contract and take a physical with the Saints?

Ok if another team wanted to move up wouldn't they wait until it's closer to the Jets pick to move up to take Lynch.
Giving up for the #12 pick to take Lynch isn't happening. The Jets front office isn't leapfrogging 8 spots so they have a better "shot" at drafting him. QBs slide in draft all the time and picks #12-19 is where that begins

Payton doesn't ever trade down. But if he did and he went through with this kinda deal, I'd be excited.

Who is that...no we should keep our pick

Since when does unrealistic fan wishes count as rumors? Barry seems like a good dude, but reading his work is nauseating.
Regardless of his contract status or trade requests, to even think we could get a Pro Bowl defensive player in his prime by trading down 8 spots in the 1st is insane. I had to read some of the posts multiple times in order to believe the people think the Jets should actually give up more picks.

I know Barry a little bit. I know he's good friend with Scott Alexander and is friends with Mike D. Yes, he's a blogger, but it's not like he doesn't know people.
But yeah, it might just be click bait.

Its clickbait.
There's no way to know if Paxton Lynch will be there until pick 12 rolls around, and a new deal with Wilkerson would have to be worked out in advance, etc.

The source he cites is a tweet from @sportsguy83 AKA 12 Days a Free Man. It is ridiculous to call it a draft rumor.

Mike D, scott, Barry- none of these guys are breaking stories, or have ever broken stories. Nice guys but no.

Nothing to even think about. Easy decision to make that deal

Then they fit right in with the Saibts beat writers.

Wait, so is this actually a rumor from a source, or just some guy with an opinion of what he wants to do?
ETA: it's definitely just the latter. OP your title is misleading. Makes it seem like some source told one of the media guys and he tweeted it out or something like it's already haplened, just not official.
ETA2: after reading through the thread I see I'm not the only one who thinks this is dumb and unreliable.
