Draft guru Dane Brugler of The Athletic loves The Saints' picks in rounds 4, 6, 7

"Day 3 pick who could surprise: Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville," Brugler said. "A top-100 prospect on my board, Riley was arguably the top cornerback during Senior Bowl week, which only verified what he put on tape in college. Given his athletic talent and coverage smarts, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him push for starting reps as a rookie.
Devin Neal was a steal in the sixth round, too, and Fadil Diggs might have been my favorite pick of Round 7."

No way, this guy that doesn't get paid by teams to make these decisions cant be right, because I got like 4 other guys who don't get paid by teams to make these decisions with big boards that hated our draft!

But what about Mel Kiper's board as a draft guru?!?

Brugler had banks rated as a guard

We definitely got value for our picks on day 3, based on most draft boards. Riley was probably a value pick as well. Broughton was drafted early, based on every ranking I've seen, but looks like a good player. Shough was picked around the right spot (he was Brugler's #50 prospect overall). Banks was mostly ranked as a mid 1st rounder, but some had him higher. Brugler did rank him as a guard, which annoys me - some did the same to Fuaga last year.

Riley is a player who I guess fell because there was a huge run D-line. That was a strong group (Dline) in this class.
WR and corner weren't.
I like what the Bucs did with Emeka Egbuka. Chris Godwin keeps getting hurt despite being a really good player. That's a great pick I think because they aren't just hoping/assuming Godwin will be injury free or not be the same player after what he's been through.
they don't get attached.
Loomis would.

Mel Kiper flat out embarrassed himself claiming he knows more about drafting than all NFL teams! ESPN ought to fire him but that woke organization won’t!

Kiper was also thinking of the wrong Texas OLineman when he was talking about Banks during the pick. Flat out embarrassed himself

The real answer is no one really knows what a guy picked on day 3 will turn out to be. The success rate drops off dramatically after the 4th round. That being said, I like the Kansas RB in the 6th a lot. He basically owns all of Kansas’ rushing stats. I think the pick of the draft for us might be Quincy Riley. He’s an undersized outside corner at just under 6’ but he plays the game like a football player and not a corner. He’s physical with bigger receivers and he will gladly lay a hit playing the run. I could see him getting early playing time because Alonte Taylor is not a boundary corner so we need to let him move back to the slot or he has no value for us.

Kiper is literally one of the biggest frauds in sports media to date. How this clown has kept a job for all these years is beyond me. I truly believe my 7 year-old daughter could throw darts at a draft board and have higher accuracy in predictions than that charlatan.

I think our draft from Sanker on down was really good. Got great value at most of those spots.
Woukd have been our best draft in years if we took the two guys the cowboys took in the 2nd and 3rd, Ezeriku and Revel. Both have first round talent.
