The #Saints are hiring an old friend, bringing back #Bama OL coach and former #Jaguars coach Doug Marrone for a key role on their offensive staff, source said.

As I said in the other thread I think Maronne is a good coach, but if its OC it feels very very uninspired.

If it’s for OC….holy frick what a bad hire.

This is what I was afraid of with DA. This good ole boy shite isn’t going to fly or keep you as HC for long

This has been in the works for a couple weeks. Marrone made it know he was going back to the NFL and the Saints made the most sense. I do not think he will be the OC but likely will be AHC, Run game coordinator and OL coach.

Got rid of mine when they allowed an opt out for the COVID season.

I have not missed it at all, and I really thought I would.

Marrone told his QB to take a knee with a minute left in the half in the AFC Championship game up by 4 with two timeouts against the Patriots

Pederson criticized Marrone

I don't think it would be reported as vaguely as "key role on their offensive staff" if it was going to be OC.

Part of the "culture" change they keep beating us over the head with was getting rid of these old retreads and bringing in some new blood.

First thing Allen does is bring his old buddies back.

Teams in the playoffs are running offenses from the Jetsons. We bring back Marrone...

I honestly don’t believe it’ll be OC either. He can help with the day to day and be a right hand man since he has HC experience.

Allen is inheriting Payton’s team and knows he needs a strong offensive mind who’s going to be aggressive.

Carmichael is still here as well

It is never a bad idea to hire someone to the staff that was an actual head coach in the NFL.
