The Saints probably implemented contractual protections for stuff like this...which was probably a component of Deshaun choosing to go elsewhere

I would die literally die if anything came of this and Cleveland went back to the stone age on a trade that sent out what could become 3 top 5 picks, had to trade their incumbent QB for whatever they could get and left them on the hook for the dumbest contract precedent ever set
Wouldn't even feel bad for them

I cannot imagine the doom and gloom (for good reason) on the browns fan boards

I would laugh my arse off. The Browns finally have a legit roster & screw up with a single trade.
I seriously hope it happens. The funniest part is that I don't even hate Browns. I just can't pass up pure comedy like that.

The $40m dead cap Atlanta has to carry won’t be shite compared to the $230m cle will have ….

If something comes of the GJ, I will be really pissed at Clev for beating Atl for Watson

Seems like it would have been in Deshaun's best interest to stay a Tejano until this was completely over. Now a jury of his peers has no reason to let him off easy

Yes, even if he isn't indicted. You can't guarantee that amount of money to a serial sexual assaulter.

The 2nd Grand Jury just declined to indict him

It’s done & over. Let’s put it away. The bullet we dodged was the mixed fan reaction that would have been exhibited at every home game. It would have subsided in time, but would have been miserable.
The guy is a top 5 QB & the Browns knew what they were buying. For better or worse, it’s not our problem.
Dodge a bullet? I have to say yes.

I’m sure there is language in the contact that voids it for something like this.

I’m not a Browns hater.
And I wanted to sign Watson as did our HC and FO
For the right price
230 mil guaranteed is out of control
We will be ok

I was in the minority by not wanting him. I couldn't handle my beloved Saints being a media shite-show over this guy.

I am worried about Jameis’s knee as well as his performances. However we didn’t have to give up anything to get him so if he doesn’t work out we aren’t screwed for years. The Saints dodged a major bullet IMO.

Yes, if you consider Super Bowl appearance to be a bullet.
