well said. It’s important that they win this for momentum alone.

"s the 20 year anniversary of the reopening of the dome that big a thing?

I understand the devastation of the storm and that it was a big deal then. It feels a bit media driven to me. But that’s why I’m asking."

Like all commemorations, this is one is about remembering something that was special and mattered intensely to a lot of people, almost all of whom had been through a lot and some of whom had been through a hell of a lot. But no, this is nothing like 20 years ago.

Sec 142 with my oldest son.

Was surreal... the whole experience... from outside the Dome all the way through the blocked punt... and then it just kept on going.

Very emotional day as Katrina-created health complications nearly killed him and he wasn't well enough to do that sort of thing until about a month before the game.

That price sounds about right. I sat in the plaza of the Girod St endzone until Katrina. Then when the Dome opened back up, the loge endzone was the same price as the plaza so we moved up to 325 to get a better view. Sat there until Covid when we finally gave them up. Man, I loved those seats and that section! When there was a kickoff, you could use the restroom and grab a beer and be back in your seats before the next play.

Me and my dad went. It was the last game he has attended because he felt he could never top that experience again.

It was electric inside the dome. I remember we just looked at each other during the pregame after scanning the crowd and was amazed at the emotional energy that was built up. And then came the blocked punt and I have yet to feel the amount of energy released by a collective group of people needing a moment of happiness following Katrina.

I will forever have the memory of that night etched into my memory.

I was on the field for the concert and in the “tunnel” for the blocked punt. I swear I could feel wind woosh down the tunnel as Gleason blocked the punt. Brings a tear to my eye to this day and probably the rest of my life.

I've probably only been to 5 Saints games, but was there that night. You could feel the energy and emotion. As an LSU season ticket holder for 31 years and visiting many away stadiums, the blocked punt was the loudest moment I've ever been a part of. It was like all the frustrations, loss, pain, and resilience of the people of South Louisiana erupted all at once. An incredible moment to experience!

I have the ticket still and it's stuck in the frame of my 2003 LSU national championship poster.

Was the coach of a football team, the NFL gave us tickets to take our players. One of the players on the team was Anthony "Freak" Johnson.
