I mean remember, the Saints had their best of the season at his expense and the Raiders. 24-0.
Ironically I think this is probably a big reason why Carr is visiting us. He’s never had a top 20 defense once during his time with the Raiders. I expect that having a defense to support him so he isn’t carrying the entire load is probably high on his wishlist. Our defense dominated him not that long ago so he knows it’s legit.

The NFC is filled with shite QBs. If Rodgers gets traded to the AFC, the top QBs in the entire conference are Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescot and Kirk Cousins. You get Carr and you are right there with the Vikings and have as good of or better than the Lions, Cardinals, Seahawks. Carr could arguably be a top 3 QB in the conference.
In theory true.
In reality, our HC is Dennis Allen and our roster kinda stinks

He broke a passer rating of 90 two times in his last five seasons at cinci - 2015 and 2016. He didn't do it again for 3 seasons, and was cut

I agree with this, BUT…
We know the front office is concerned about turning a profit/ticket sales, so they’re gonna try to win this year as hard as they can without nuking the future.
So if they’re not committing to a rebuild and they’re gonna TRY, then I’m not against getting Carr if you can make the contract work in a way that isn’t devastating. I’d rather them try to win with Carr than with some journeyman. And they aren’t gonna get a QB in the draft at 29 or later that can really be the guy, certainly not in year one.

I mean if everything stays like it is in the NFC South and the Saints get Carr...the Saints have the best team in the division.

He is absolutely not the answer with Doofus Allen as our head coach.
This is what many Saints fans aren't grasping. I mean, technically, yes "the jury is still out" on Allen but it doesn't look good.

So you're saying we have no chance. Derek Carr is fkn garbage and to give up draft picks for this god-awful QB is an idea that is monumentally stupid. It will definitely set saints back 5 years at least and i bet they wont even win the division much less get to the playoffs. Just dumb

I’d take carr as a modest upgrade byt He’s not worth trading for.
He would need a strong group of wideouts but We’re losing thomas and probably Jarvis Landry. As for OL, We’ll probably lose andrus peat.
If we can just sign him without a trade to a cap friendly deal then I say go for it

Even so, and even with a backup QB, we still won 7 games and had a top 10 scoring and total D. Our roster COULD be bad if we miss out on Carr and decide to cut rather than restructure some guys. Right now, it's not that bad at all. It's not nearly as good and deep as it used to be...but you act like we have a Texans type roster...
I'm not saying we'd win a title with Carr his first year here. But we'd make the playoffs. How much success with him we have would likely be tied to how well we draft the next couple of years. We get some young talent at RB, on the DL and a safety..maybe trade for a vet WR, we'll be in damn good shape. I have no faith in DA as coach BUT generally when we NEED to have a good draft, we usually do. 2016 and 2017 we needed back to back good drafts. We did. Last year we had a good one. We need another couple of those with upgrades at DL, a RB and maybe another safety and we'll be ok with Carr. Miss on those picks with a couple of Davenports and Turners, we'll be a wild card playoff team and that will be kind of it.

Always true. I just didn’t want to pay him $30mm a year, which if they get the cost worked out this is the best option we have
We’ll at least make the divisional round next year with Carr

This is what we’ve come to. Ride with Carr or die.

Carr is our QB for 5 yrs. DA is coach next season too. That's facts.

A guy who had his best season 8 years ago and his worst season last year was in his prime this past February when you made this post?
