Hope we don't sign Andy Dalton for another year. I can't stand to watch another year of a passionless QB just trying not to lose. We need a passionate QB with fire. Siemian and Dalton both suffered from the same thing. No heart and lolly pop passes. These guys are the most boring QBs you can ask for. That is why I was such an advocate for Hill. At least he is a winner and entertaining.
Derek Carr is the real deal and will at least get us 10 wins next year. That is all we need in upcoming very weak division. This dude has a chip on his shoulder and he ready to game. He is in his prime. Drew had average stats with the Chargers, remember that. Miss you Drew, definitely took you for granted the final years.

I'll just leave this here to further persuade this forum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YR_96Wm7pg&ab_channel=ESPN

The NFC is filled with shite QBs. If Rodgers gets traded to the AFC, the top QBs in the entire conference are Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescot and Kirk Cousins. You get Carr and you are right there with the Vikings and have as good of or better than the Lions, Cardinals, Seahawks. Carr could arguably be a top 3 QB in the conference.

he'll be 32 in March and is a career loser as a starter.

picture him in this offense this past season with the same injuries to all of the positions besides QB.

would he have done any better?

He had a legit badass with Adams at WR and the league leading rusher in Josh Jacobs. Yet he got politely nudged out the door.

He is absolutely not the answer with Doofus Allen as our head coach.

You have to trade for him right? I'm not sure he is worth trading for. Also, what's his salary like? 30 million next year?

Stafford was 74-90-1 at Detroit before winning a SB in LA. Stafford was 0-3 in playoffs at Detroit

Wins are a team stat

My, my, my.

Carr has two 10-win seasons and has been quarterbacking in the league for 8 years. Raiders have been .500 or below .500 with Carr 75% of the time. You have zero basis to make such an outlandish claim about an objectively average player. Carr is not a needle-mover.

We don't have an answer with our current HC. I'm normally a glass half full guy, but I'm afraid we're about to enter another Aints period. In other words, the glass is half full of piss.

True.

But I never thought Carr was anywhere near Sam fwiw.
I disagree he has "the fire" lol
I don't think much of anyone is a recipe for a winning season next year with or without paying too much.

If your goal is for the team to get 10 wins and make the playoffs, sure go get Carr. Also, if you get Carr, you have to make even more tough decisions that affect the talent around him and the depth of the roster.

If you have higher expectations than just making the playoffs, you need the team to suck until they’re in position to draft a top QB.

I actually believe that's possible, due to the division being so weak. But is that what we really want? We'd be nothing more than a paper tiger that gets annihilated in week 1 of the playoffs. I just think the majority of the organization needs to be torn apart and start over.

64.6%
248 yds/game
7.1 yds/att
4.4 td%
2.0 int%
91.8 passer rating

Stafford career...
63.2%

Haha.

I go back and forth on carr. He was really not good this season, but was very solid the previous 4. Was his trouble this year his new scheme or age related? He's certainly not a sure bet, but I do think he's as close to a certain bet as we can get this offseason. With Allen's neck on the line, I think he goes after him.

As has been said too much cost for a team not ready. You really think for the money he and Pete C spells success next year?

Probably not. I will say that Dalton had one of his best seasons in a long time under Pete. Again, this is most likely Allen's last shot at being an nfl HC, so I think he's going after carr. I can't blame allen for that

I don't want to win next year. Build the team up and draft hooker, along with more OLine, rb, and defensive line.

I don't think he's much of an upgrade over Dalton, especially if he costs more. I saw multiple games this year that he looked like the only player on offense that had any type of fire.
