God dammit I hate when I agree with you

I don’t mind the Allen hire, it was the Carmichael hire that I can’t stand.

You know what makes it even more disturbing? If you listened to the previous staffers and their horror stories when he was at Oakland you'd never think the Saints would hire someone like that. Here we are though. I mean we are talking about an organization that tried to cover up a sexual predator and Payton's pill popping. Previous people who knew him at Oakland said there was no way he'd get another HC job and they were shocked Saints settled for him.
You're right, an extension of Payton's staff without Payton. Absolutely fricking genius.
I give it by week 8 and this board will be 100% turned on the Dennis Allen hire.

New OC. New QB. Team would likely compete for the NFC.
I'm concerned a game like this ruins Winston's confidence.
If Saint get a decent pick for Payton, they might need to pray they can find a decent QB in the draft.

That’s hard to believe because Winston sucks major arse.
I don’t think Dalton would accomplish 35 interceptions like Winston will this year

Payton's offense was getting stale and carmichael is just running that.
I didn't mind sticking with allen but i did want a new oc.
Bring in someone young and innovative. Carmichael can work of everything is perfect.
If wimston is going to play like that then it's going to be a long season.
I'm not getting the dennis allen hate yet. Although he should've let lutz kick the field goal.

ya, wasn’t a big fan of hiring Pete as OC. I think Allen will be fine as HC

Mike McDaniel is killing it
I'd have preferred to hire Kyle Shannahan if we're naming guys who we would have had to force to come here

Didn't McDaniel say he wouldn't go somewhere where weed wasn't legal or some shite?
Yes.
The most likely guy from the McVay/Shanny tree to come here was the great Nathaniel Hackett
McDaniel was not coming here

Well yea, they didn’t interview him. The whole Saint’s process was trash
Posted on 9/19/22 at 12:15 pm to Lester Earl
I am not sure if he even interviewed with anyone else last year.
He and Daboll basically got to pick their opening.

I’ve said this from day one. Allen was a lazy hire and it’s going to backfire. All those raining downvotes now will change their tune by the end of the season or in the near future.

I agree with this OP somewhat in that Dennis Allen was a bad hire. Dennis Allen lacks the fire you wanna see in your HC, he's soft and doesn't get after it. You wanna see your HC get after people, refs, and players too when they're out of line. Allen just seems passive in that area, he just has that affable look.
Posted on 9/19/22 at 12:28 pm to Lester Earl
Yeah, they went through with the interviews, Loomis that is did that because they didn't wanna hear anything from the NFL about just hiring Allen outright. That former Miami HC had everyone nervous as hell with the lawsuit, and so the Loomis made sure to interview him right away. Lol

Allen with a new exciting oc would be fine.
I thought carmichael might actually add some new concepts once getting the reins.
I'm fine with running taysom with power but let him fake it anf throw it deep every once in a while.
Get him out on a roll.
Where were the screens?
A tight end screen to juwan johnson or taysom would've been nice to help jameis out.
This talent paired with a system like green bay runs would be beautiful.
Lafleur knows how to get easy yards on early downs.

You're right, Taysom's running paired with Green Bay's system would be good, but really having Taysom run all the time is getting old. I thought they were going to call pass and fool TB. Smh

We hired a losing HC and paired him with a losing QB. I mean what did people think would happen? Signing LSU players sure got everyone hyped for nothing.

ennis Allen didn’t turn the ball over 5 times today, had a veteran qb making rookie mistakes…..bottom line
Why has the veteran QB seemingly regressed and making rookie mistakes once SP left the room? You may not want to put it on Allen, but isn’t it his job to insure and hire people that co tiniest to develop JW?
