It was unlikely the Saints were going to rock the boat with so many veterans. Allen will last 2-3 years and then we will undergo a proper rebuild that hopefully includes a new young coaching staff.

I like Dennis Allen’s defense, but this may have to be a 1 and done for Pete Carmichael’s autistic arse. Need someone with creativity in charge of the offense.

Payton's in game management was bad as well. We haven't had a savvy gameday coach in regards to clock and situational decisions ever.

Payton sucked with challenges but he was an elite game planner, clock manager & had an innate feeling for situational football

Let’s just hope Pete turns it around. But yeah, he’s not the type to inspire. It’s still early. Hopefully things can come together.
ETA. They still had Brady, Evan’s and Fournette. I know they had injuries, but as bad as the offense was our defense was out there way too much and steadily shut it down. They deserve a ton of credit.
