Dennis Allen HC with hiring Joe Brady as the OC/QB coach?

Only thing that would give me hope. As it stands now we have little to attract a Top QB, from the coaching standpoint. Decent line, Kamara, and Michael Thomas (if someone can explain to me what the hell is going on with him)?

Depressed Saints fan throwing stuff at a wall to see if it sticks.

If we're keeping Allen as HC we might as well keep Carmichael at OC unless there's some real up and coming superstar at OC we can sign

What happened to Brady in Carolina? Did he suck or was it a product of Carolinas dysfunction?

With Brady, their offense was ranked in the low 20’s. After firing Brady, their offense went completely kaput. I think Carolina had a dysfunctional program that built their entire offense around McCaffery and had very little talent outside of him. Brady was used as a scapegoat and then shown to have been the only piece that was actually working.

If I’m the Saints, I try to get him to come back, but the biggest issue is whether or not to retain Carmichael. I don’t see Joe Brady taking a position subordinate to an offensive coordinator.

If you promote Allen to DC, I feel like he would keep Carmichael as OC. If there is room for Brady as QB coach or passing game coordinator or some made up title like that, then I'd be all for it. I think Brady would benefit from not being the main focus for a few more seasons before trying his hand at OC again

Carmichael would stay as OC I believe. Payton left behind a great championship system and I doubt Allen would rock that boat. Joe Brady is not an option for OC...maybe passing game coordinator or WR's coach, but he's not ready to run an offense yet.

What if they promoted carmichael and named brady as OC with Allen remaining in his DC role?

We have heard from numerous ex players that Pete Carmichael is an offensive genius. Perhaps he would make a great head coach, or an amazing OC without Payton calling the plays.

Carmichael is not going to be head coach. He’s a soft spoken, low key personality type guy. No doubt he’s probably as skilled as any as an OC without Payton.

yes, lets get rid of one of the top OCs in football and hire a guy that sucked so fricking hard, our 5 win division rivals fired him mid-season.

Gonna ask Chicken if we can get a filter to block all references to "Joe Brady" on this Godforsaken site.

Joe Brady had issues with his scheme and was too predictable, expecting his guys to just beat defenders instead of using things like pre-snap motions to key in on the defense's coverage- zone versus man. His offense lacked RPOs, appropriate use of play-action, double-moves and pick-plays to exploit his matchups. Maybe he will learn, but Carmichael is more suitable for the job than Joe Brady and gives the team a better chance rather than having Brady work out his kinks and learn on the job.

Make Brady Asst. OC. He would come. There are head coaches that became DC or OC. If you are into coaching, and have no job, you will take what comes your way.

Little bit, yeah. I think with Brady we become attractive to top QB free agents? There is a line, a system, and a damned good defense.

What is the fricking obsession with Joe Brady?

He has proven to be mediocre at best. Joe Burrow and the team of NFL players made LSU in 19.

and the Brady show at Carolina was a shitshow
