Carr is so GOOD that the Raiders let him walk.

Think about that.

Guess we should have let Brees go and be free and happy.

We have the Raiders old head coach, old DC and old QB. We’re all set.

And? They also didn’t pick up the 5th year option on the NFL’s leading rusher last year. They clearly don’t make good choices.

I mean, up to that point in his career he wasn't worth the $8M, and they always had the option to franchise him for slightly more (about $10M) if he did break out. If he didn't have this amazing season last year, he was gone and they couldn't have done that if they picked up the option.

It's a risk:reward situation. Low risk ($2M) and high reward. Picking up the option assumed all the risk.

Balt is considering letting Lamar go, think about that.

NE let Brady go and he won a SB after
Indy let Manning go and he went to 2 SBs and won 1 after
GB may let Rodgers go

To clarify, I do not put Carr in the stratosphere of any of the above QBs; just pointing out teams let capable QBs go for various reasons

Think about this.

Washington has let kirk cousins walk and still needs a Qb. Minnesota has had solid Qb play to keep them relevant enough to have a shot.

So we should expect Brees' like numbers out of Carr?

Not saying DC is good, but I wouldn't judge ANYTHING by what the Raiders do.

You explained the situation perfectly, over paying for a RB is the type of thing that hurts teams, that this post was 0-5 downvotes tells me all I need to know about most posters on this board

They also got rid of Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack. The Raiders have the worst FO in sports.

Tampa and Broncos and Raiders and Tampa again and others I'm sure all won SB with qbs so good former teams let them go.

While I agree the Raiders are a poorly run organization, they traded Mack for 2 firsts and Cooper for 1. That’s not the same as letting them walk

I think the saints would be happy with just having Carr's production 4 of the last 5 years. Obviously last year is concerning, but the saints feel he's worth the risk, and I agree
