So we should be concerned in short.

Yes until Armstead and Ginn return it’s going to continue to be shite. Drops are inexcusable

It’s really concerning that Drew isn’t throwing the ball down the field, and when he does his targets aren’t catching the ball

I can only guess CSP is holding back and not showing plays that he’s planning on once Ginn is back.

It was very frustrating watching all these dink and dunks. He’s gotta have something better to play vs what this conservative bullshite we saw tonight

That was a good game, both teams played their asses off.

Carolina played much harder than we did.

A win is a win

Shut up... It was a Division game on the road their 3rd in a row by the way. The offensive line was mixed and matched and it is a win. The offense is fine and this team is 12-2. You idiots and your overreaction.

i will just say that there does seem to be a bit of a drop off in anyone getting open for brees to throw to.

that said........luke kuechly was a beast tonight and pretty much single handedly gave our running game fits all damn night. they played well and completely covered our receivers so they deserve credit for that

What does this have to do with my OP?

Also do you really think it is "bitching"?

They've been on the road for a month

This. They also had a three game stretch in 12 days. People need to settle the frick down. The back end of the season is always a meat grinder. LA and NE each dropped 2 in a row. Dallas and KC lost too.

We had 2 games where the offense did dick and 12 where they averaged about 36. We'll be fine.

They’re playing with a patchwork OL and have no consistency at WR beyond MT. If the offense is still lacking in production when Armstead, Unger, and Ginn are healthy (or if they don’t get healthy enough to return anytime soon), then I’ll be concerned.

To be fair (and it feels weird to say this), I can only say that because defense is playing lights-out right now. I do want the offense to get back to a high level, obviously, but I don’t feel the same sense of extreme urgency because we don’t need much more from them than adequacy right now.

In the end, though it doesn’t matter to me whether they win in one phase of the game or the other, as long as they can do just enough on each side to keep winning. Plenty of teams win championships by dominating one phase or the other, but a team that can step up and become dominant in one phase when the other is struggling is a whole lot more impressive to me. That’s a team that, if you can get everybody healthy, has the potential to be incredibly potent on both sides of the ball and all but unstoppable. In a season with real SB prospects, that’s huge.

I think the offense needs some home cooking

yes our OL injuries are a huge issue (which I believe is a contributing factor to the lack of deep passes)

but I REALLY think when they're back in the Dome... things will come alive for the offense

A number of posters on here want absolute zero criticism of the team at all. So they automatically think any criticism is you bitching or melting.

"Concern" is pretty neutral and I can't help but feel we can all agree on that. How do we turn it around?

Put in Teddy Bridgewater the future of the Saints.

Yes ignoring 11 weeks of record setting offensive numbers and focusing on three weeks of road games where the offense was sub par is bitching. It’s hard to win in the NFL. It’s even harder to win on the road. Another win and the team can rest and get the o-line healthy. Ginn will be back for the playoffs to stretch the field. The offense hasn’t been on a record pace recently but the defense has picked up the slack and they’re winning I don’t see a reason to be concerned.

Sure the offense is sputtering, but the defense has exceeded our expectations.

We aren’t allowed to have honest discussions here. Posters have pointed out the inept offense for four weeks now. It’s a trend. Same posters get all upset if any part of this team is criticized. Even when justified.

Still a hell of a win though. Defense was one gimmick play away from a shut out

Yep. Then they’ll complain about how awful this board is when not realizing it’s them that’s turned it into what it is they claim to hate.

I think there's cause for concern, but the level at which the offense was playing was realistically unsustainable; there was bound to be a dropoff eventually.

Also, the schedule lately hasn't done any favors. Three straight road games, and only one Sunday kickoff in the last month has to be unusual.

All that said, Sean has to let Ingram get into some sort of rhythm. Stop using him for just one play, then calling him back to the sideline for the rest of a drive. PA needs to be set up to loosen coverage on these receivers, because they clearly can't get open on their own.

No, I think people can take criticism when you understand why things are happening the way they are, and the fact that it won’t be & hasn’t been. a long term issue
