I wonder if we start going back to more defensive looks where we have 3 safeties in the lineup now.
the Saints had seemed to pull the plug on that idea so far.

Byrd has been playing badly but his ceiling is higher than anyone we can replace him with.

Injuries won't kill us..at least this one won't. We were losing with him. Our coaches are killing us. Payton's playcalling has been either predictable or boneheaded. Ryan's schemes have been HORRENDOUS and not suited to our players' strengths. He's made terrible adjustments - or none at all. Those things are killing us in a nutshell.
And then there's personnel, which again goes back to the coaches and management. Nick Toon is a mid round pick who can't get off the bench after three seasons. So why are we keeping him when we could give his roster spot to a Free Agent linebacker or cornerback? Could Champ Bailey, even with question marks, possibly be worse than rookie Brian Dixon?
