The amount of very obvious purely Rooney Rule interviews going on right now is pretty damn comical. Raheem Morris is getting multiple HC interviews.

Raheem morris is actually a very good coach.

Don't be surprised if he is a head coach in the next 2 yrs.

This is what I thought too given that his time in Tampa was an epic fail but reading the Twitters and other places, seems there is some genuine respect for him around the league.

Carolina set to interview Frank Reich and requested permission to interview Kellen Moore.... offense offense offense. Wouldn't be shocked to see cowboys jump into the payton fray.

I’d bet Houston goes with Demeco Ryans

Didn't his run as a player and departure not go very well? Seems like I remember it getting a little ugly between them, but that was long ago

Denver Broncos : Payton has spoken with owner & can interview on 1/17.

The Denver Broncos held a virtual head coach interview with Michigan‘s Jim Harbaugh on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

So, maybe CSP is out of the running for the Broncos.

Yes because when it comes to head coach interviews teams usually interview only one candidate

Didn't realize that was an interview as well.

Do we think Payton is waiting this out for Chargers or Cowboys to lose early in playoffs and fire their head coaches? I feel like he truly wants one of those two jobs and Broncos/Cards/Texans are just backups

I think that’s a distinct possibility. It would be nice if the person who started this thread would at least add the Dallas and Chargers to the potential jobs we are monitoring.

Mike Williams being out this week because he was still playing deep into a meaningless game isn't a great look for Staley. Could get interesting if they lose

No doubt. I would place a nice chunk of change at even money odds that Staley is fired if they lose tomorrow. Same thing with McCarthy in Dallas.

2023 2nd Round(35th overall)
2024 1st round
2024 3rd round

Sufficient enough?

This is way more realistic than those expecting the #3 pick

Not sure why that is great news. One less coaching job open and one less coach looking for an analyst gig.

Because the Rams would be in the mix for Payton and while it would be disgusting to see him coach that franchise they also have literally nothing to trade

Well if they have nothing to trade they don’t get him. Or is there some rule I don’t know about that says we have to make special accommodations for the Rams??
