Texans will never hire SP. They think they are too smart to go out and hire a proven commodity. They will shop the bargain bin and try to hire an up and comer. And they are obsessed with hiring minorities.

Texans will likely fire their GM too. Their QB situation is up in the air but having GM open could be appealing for SP to bring in his own guy.

That he’s talked to Denver’s owner already, and can’t interview until 17th.

Brether, the Texans having a ton of picks benefits the saints. Because they could trade some to NO & still have a bunch left over for the new coach.
They have two firsts. They could keep 1.1 and trade the saints the Cleveland pick.
That gives more reason to make a move.
They could take cj stroud or Bryce young and pair with Payton. Or trade 1.1 for an established QB. Or sign a FA QB & draft another position. That has to be appetizing for all parties.
This is the total opposite of what Payton left in New Orleans. He could start fresh and be good fast.
