I am hearing this is close to being done. He has agreed to Loomis's request to retain Kubiac, Rizzi, and a few others. I hope I am wrong this will be a disaster.

I think Glenn might end up being a great HC. A great HC has to be more than a successful coordinator. He has to be a CEO and a leader of men. The leader of men part is where Dennia Allen failed. I think Aaron Glenn is a leader and a good administrator.

I mean Allen was one of the worst HCs ever so what are we saying here?
But at least Allen had success coordinating Ds on his resume. Everything about Glenn is mostly built around what a stand up guy he is.
If the OP is accurate, it goes to show Mickey legitimately believes we’re on the right track so nothing will change except a different guy at the podium feeding you generic bullshite.

What are you basing this opinion on? Puff pieces singing his praises?
Doesn’t really bode well for a great leader if he’s agreeing to keep guys on staff he didn’t hire. Let the guy hire his own staff, what in the hell has Kubiak done to be safe from a staff turnover ?

Hiring a defensive minded coach today gets you no where in the NFL. You're the Texans at best

I get what you are saying but you have to give him credit for what he’s done with that defense that year. Buncha Jags playing like the best defense in the league, he deserves credit for that. They were salty last year too, I don’t care what stats say, they were great against the run and had a young secondary that also included CJGJ who tanked that whole defense last year.

I agree with your point. But when everyone was healthy, Kubiaks offense looked great. He definitely tries to establish the running game, one of our biggest gripes for years with CSP. Who was to pass happy at times.
And his use of Hill was infinite times better. Hill could have been a real star if he was used this way for years when younger.
And Carr seems to fit his offense. Lots of play action which Carr works good off of. Maybe they don’t want him to have his 10th different coordinator. He seems to get a different one every year since he got in the league.

Lmao. Rizzi is not staying in New Orleans if not the HC.
Interms never do. He’s got options.

No one hires a coach they think can’t lead.
Your leadership “skills” are only as good as your players.
When perceived “good” leaders lose, they are recycled as “too nice”, “too mean”, or “too stupid”.

If you want Glenn you better hope he gets an elite OCoordinator.

Oh, I’m vehemently against Glenn if it wasn’t obvious lol

The Lions have clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs despite a lot of injuries. They have a standard and that is due to the head coach. Not discrediting his assistants but I'd give the majority of the credit to Campbell.
How many times have we seen a coach being hired from a staff where they were part of a winner, and they just fell flat when they got their first chance? Happens all the time.
Not saying Glenn will but if Mickey already has his mind made up on this man then that is just being close minded. All of the other interviews are for show kind of like last time.

He’s the one guy I think fits well here.
Young, familiar and he can command attention. He has the personality and really just needs a shot. It’ll be a bumpy ride at first and we’ll have to be patient but I think he will be a successful head coach
