New Orleans’ pair of starting forwards both appeared on Thursday’s injury report ahead of the team’s 7 p.m. home game vs. Detroit. Zion Williamson (rest) is out, while Brandon Ingram (right knee tendinitis) is listed as questionable. The remainder of the report remains the same for the Pelicans, with Jose Alvarado (right ankle sprain), Naji Marshall (right knee contusion) and Trey Murphy (left knee partial meniscectomy) out.

The Pels are going to get fined for this right? Can't you not rest a "star" player if they aren't injured?

I expected Zion would be out with the team plane issues, I’m expecting CJ to only play around 15 minutes also as he had a high workload last night, but we can’t afford to sit anymore

4 games into the season and I’m just about done already.
I guess I’ll wait for Jose and Trey to come back to start giving a shite again.
I’m done with BI and Zion.

Only for nationally televised games.

The rule is only one star player can rest for one game.

I don’t understand what people expected with back to back and plane issues. I completely agree with you here regards to CJ. Not sure why people thought otherwise.

Why are we mad at Zion? I’d much rather him just rest than force it and risk getting him hurt on such short rest

BI is the one being a bitch

This isn’t Zion’s fault. This is the team making this call. Place your anger where it is warranted.

Yup the Zion move is right move especially since he looks like hes not fully in shape anyways.

Clearly they've seen what the stats are saying. This is JVs team now.

I would be surprised if CJ only plays 15 minutes, doesn’t really make sense

He is not subject to the “can only rest one star” rule in the new player participation policy because he hasn’t made an all-star team. He could rest if they wanted him to

If he’s out there, he’s playing a somewhat normal workload (25+ minutes)

The problem is we are low on players with now 5 sitting out, if CJ sits also then we may end up creating a depth issue.

He may get 25 or so, but I don’t see him doing the 37 he played last night

I wonder what his teammate's think when they see that he is out for “rest” in game 5 lol

That I rather he stay healthy through the whole season so we have a shot at playoffs rather than him getting hurt in game 5.

When will the NBA just do away with back to backs when it come to scheduling?
