Jesus…that warm up video makes him look awful =(

I’ve been really positive and very dismissive of the anti Zion talk … but that didn’t look good at all =/

ball of fame. nice touch.

it appears that zion is clueless about fitness.
so any bet or guess has to look at weight as albatross and leg foot injuries as possible regular features every couple years.

whereas morant is better now than this time last year.

in two years we know.
if zion gets that fitness is his savior he can still be an all time great.

morant is on his best trajectory.
better each year.

What frustrates me is that he and his family push for us to contend, however his weight and fitness sets us back to where we can't depend on him.

It's also team building but we can't even be patient with our young guys thanks to them. Guys we should be okay with taking a year or two to develop instead of needing INSTANT production at a high level.

Whereas Memphis had that opportunity:
Melton took 3 years to be a contributor and is now solid as hell in year 4.

Bane took a huge year 2 leap

Ziaire doesn't have to come in and be elite right away.

Compared to us: we need Murphy and herb to be instant contributors. Kira to be an above average pg. Naw have to be starting caliber. Etc

if brooks was starting and getting his 19 points instead of waiting for broken hand to heal melton might be still on deep bench.

no stars with morant but they have several good ones.

i would bench jaren jr when brooks can play 25 minutes.
let jackson get run as backup center running with jones and clarke and some slo mo until he gets his shot from deep.

Is he hurt? Could this be a ploy to get his weight under control? Who waits weeks or day to get scans done? Don’t they have all that equipment in house?
I’m over this dude always being unprepared and never ready to play when it’s time to play. I want him to be successful here but I don’t see it happening. At this point he is who he is.

As a basketball fan, I can say he is a fat piece of shite...has nothing to do with me being a Pelicans fan. This isn't frustrated ribbing, but Zion is a few donuts away from having type 2 diabetes. It is sad that someone with that much talent gives no shits about his body

Similar to when AD was here and he claimed we didn’t have enough to win, but part of it was his constant missing of games and/or him going back to the locker room for 2 quarters of a game once or twice a week.

And that last AD year was my favorite. We started 4-0 and AD started sitting out with weak bruises for a weeks and when he did play he was either choking or point shaving like a MOFO in the 4th quarter of winnable games.

These guys claim to want to win, but will never acknowledge publicly that they are also part of the problem. Zion, even when healthy has lost us at least a dozen games due to atrocious defense. Part of that is excusable as a young big, but part of it is his conditioning, lack of lateral agility, and lack of effort bc he’s afraid to get hurt bc he’s constantly carrying too much weight.

But to be honest, I’m sure Griffin would’ve messed it up with Morant and less immediate pressure to win vs having Zion as well. Griffin is just THAT DUDE. He sucks. And the trickle down effect throughout the rest of the organization is real.

Should have a disciplined diet after a surgery that leaves you immobile - easy to pack on weight eating the same amount of calories without exercise.

I had a meniscus tear and maintained weight by eating chicken, broccoli, hummus, tomatoes and cucumbers 5 days a week / twice a day. These guys are professional athletes and should be disciplined.

He never gets on the court for HALF a Season. Fat Slob.
Biggest insult in LeBron's entire career was being compared to Zion. LeBron works his a-- off and has for decades. ZW is a lazy bum on a comparative basis.

Never said he wasn't bigger than he should be, just said he's wearing multiple shirts and jackets which makes him look even bigger than he actually is.

I'll be the first to admit, Zion could be the GOAT if he actually took it seriously. Spend a million a year on your body like Lebron does, and nobody could/would stop him, ever.

Hell, he doesn't even have to spend the money himself, just take the experts the franchise is wanting to hire for you instead of turning them down and using your mom (with no nutritional background whatsoever), and your step-dad

Yeah that’s the thing that kind of pisses me off.

Like, you are rich as frick, you have the money to hire the best of the best nutritionists, personal trainers, and a Michelin star level chef to cook your every meal. Have personal assistants literally counting every calorie and fitness scientists to monitor your weight changes and recommend what needs adjusting.

Precisely. I guarantee you if he was committed to this franchise and Benson opens the checkbook for his health

We should go ahead and trade him if he isn’t serious about his fitness. He clearly hasn’t been since we drafted him. shite is sad.
