Well say hello to your new rookie of the year, Nickeil Alexander Walker.

he's gotta lose some of that weight... i'd try to get him down to at least 260, to ease the burden on his knees, going forward...

I am in no way a superstitious man, so it is a scientific fact that this team is cursed

It'll be the 30 games. Its not even a question in my mind. They will take it easy.

It also means he will be load managed the rest of the year.

Not that it matters, but it has to drop his chances of winning RotY dramatically. He just won't play enough games.

Saving Zion for the playoffs.

There is no silver linings here, this is just bad luck. Hopefully he recovers 100% and rehabs to the level where the knee isn't a long term issue. I trust our staff to make sure this is the case, something I couldn't say in previous years.

Reading how meniscus injuries can degenerate and give players problems the rest of their career is really depressing the ever living frick out of me.

This franchise is cursed beyond belief.

Willing to bet he partially tore it in the Duke/UNC game. Spurs game finished the job

Yeah very good chance Zion will never be the player we hoped him to be. Pelicans to Seattle in 6 years

Meh, I can think of at least 2 MVP's that have either had multiple meniscus related surgeries or had their meniscus completely removed prior to even playing the league.

You stress out too much Bunchie. This is very common injury and most comeback with no drop off. I can think of two fairly recent ones off the top of my head. Westbrook and Butler.

Of course all knee surgeries you can find long term problems if you dig.

Chris Paul as well I believe.

Likely, Zion will be fine in the short term. He will be back for the Christmas game and then load managed the rest of the year. Next offseason I am pretty certain they will work 100% on conditioning and him dropping 15 lbs or so. I doubt they will "allow" him to play for Team USA if he got the call.
