I’m just saying Pels have set themselves up to be very good for the foreseeable future. Are they NBA title good? Maybe depends on Zion, BI, and more importantly Herb, Trey, and Daniels to improve (neither has reached their prime).

Reading up on Daniels, I really see why they coveted him so much. His ceiling is really high and since we don’t really need him to be the superstar of the team just be solid NBA starter that almost seems like a sure bet.

Pels long term outlook is far better with the team we have now l, and we would be better served to roll with this core for the next 10 years rather than blow it apart for 2 years of Durant.

Now, if we could add KD without giving up Zion, BI, CJ, or Herb then I’m all for it.

I would be willing to go as far as JV, Graham, Temple, Hayes and Kira along with all the picks for KD, but I’m taking away picks starting with the 24/25 lakers pick if they want any other young players.

I already have money on pels to win it all. I really think we are going to catch the league off guard with how good we are.

I don’t want to trade for KD because that means we lose BI or Zion.

But what if we were the sweetener in a 3 team trade. Something like sending a few picks to Phoenix and some role players like Hayes and Kira and some picks to the Nets and we get Deandre Ayton?

And it doesn’t have to be that exact trade, but something like it.

Something like this: LINK

I know that gives us too many max contracts, but we would have a year to figure out what core we go with and could trade somebody next year.

Jonas is on one of the best value deals in the league, I wouldn’t move him for anything more than a superstar.

Ayton is not that, plus as you said, to many max deals, the money would get so prohibitive we wouldn’t be able to keep the team together.

Which team says no to this first? I’m basing on Utah deciding to tear it down

Hawks: Rudy Gobert

Lakers: Kyrie

Suns: Durant, Clint Capella

Jazz: Westbrook, Ayton s&t, Crowder, 23,25,27,29 picks from Suns, 27 pick from Lakers

Nets: Donovan Mitchell, John Collins, Mikel Bridges, Landry Shamet, 29 1st from Lakers

Complicated deal, but seems workable for everyone

Deals of that magnitude never happen.

I think you did a good job with it but I just don't see anything remotely like that happening.

It would definitely be a once in a lifetime type deal, but then again there’s never been a player of KD’s magnitude ask out from a team that wants to remain competitive

I expect this to be a super complicated deal once it’s done

what a pussy
quote:

"I think what happened here in the last few months the combination of the acrimonious talks with Kyrie Irving and the Nets about his future, their unwillingness to commit long-term to him, his inability to find a long-term deal in a sign-and-trade in the marketplace," said Adrain Wojnarowski.

"And the Warriors winning a championship played a factor in this. I think it exasperated Kevin Durant's frustration. I think the narrative that surrounded him that he dealt with in the aftermath of him leaving Golden State and then going on to win a title without him contrasted with what has gone on in Brooklyn over these last three years."

He's a total pussy, I hope he never wins a championship because you know that it bothers him that people say that the Warriors would've won without him. Them winning this year essentially proves it, too.

Kind of funny that those memes about Kyrie leaving Boston and KD leaving Golden St and they were playing each other in the Finals actually turned out to be true regarding KD.

Shamit has been a bit insufferable today but he does bring up a decent point.

If Phoenix or Miami want to acquire Durant, they may have to dump good players to other teams to make things work, particularly for assets that they could send to Nets.

So they may have to move a Bridges, etc

Lowe talking bout the leverage KD has. Says seeing people say the Nets have all the leverage because KD has 4 years left on his deal, Lowe says "that's kinda bunk"

Basically said KD will certainly have leverage because the Nets will not go to war with KD and send him to a team he doesn't want to go to. It will be cooperative and they'll find something that works together, with KD having some level of power in the process.

But the Nets aren't going to trade KD for a baloney sandwich. They have no reason to actually trade him unless there's a deal that gives them a decent return. And everything that I read indicates that a Phoenix or Miami deal will be very challenging to make work.

There’s some idiocy around the leverage debate for sure

Like, the Nets aren’t going to be able to trade him to Orlando and say haha sucker! Cause Orlando isn’t going to involve themselves even if Brooklyn wanted to be petty.

The teams that are really going to go after KD are teams that feel they can give up meaningful assets and still be in line with KD to win a championship. And want to go that route. That by itself will narrow down the field of trade partners to probably a half dozen or so.

But does KD have the power to just go, I’ll only play on X or Y team? He can say it, and maybe try and deflate the market further, but Toronto showed teams will call bluffs. And out of those remaining teams I expect the Nets to take the best deal.

Between the two though, for instance, Kyrie probably has more leverage because he is on a one year deal and can basically say trade me to LA or I’ll leave any team that trades for me and sign with LA next season

Don’t think the suns can send 4 frp, thought the max was 3. Nets are getting pretty good value, figuring Kyrie isn’t worth much right now. That second lakers pick would have to get rerouted to the jazz.

But I think that’s decent value for all teams involved.
