lol no it does nothing of the sort.
Then why did the Zion extension get put on hold, right when it was being finalized yesterday? I can't think of any other possible reason. The only thing that makes sense to me is Sean Marks realizing that he's about to get in a position where he can't trade Durant for more than a ham sandwich and then making another call to Griffin with a much better offer.

I call bullshite on Windhorst

I’d rather not make the trade either. I’m hoping this is just Griff leaking this out to raise the national profile of the Pels. If we are considered good enough for KD, it helps legitimatize us for future players.

When did it get "put on hold?"

Windy is known to get leaks from Griff. This didn't come from anywhere else.

1st off everyone should calm down, Windy has been wrong on Pels news quite often.
2nd off, Griff won’t give up BI nor Zion nor Herb. He said last season they’re untouchable for anyone. With the relationship CJ has built up I have to imagine he’s in the same boat.
If this were to happen he’s not going to gut the team, it would be Val, Graham, Temple, Hayes along with 1 of Trey, Jose, Kira and picks.
This has to be done, when a player like KD comes available you have to shoot your shot, but if they want Willie talking to him then it means they want KD to buy in to us and the way we do things.

I don’t mind wanting to seek an audience and explore the option, any good GM in our position would be derelict to his duties by not, but honestly, what rubs me really wrong is putting Willie in the middle of it.
It just opens the box of building unnecessary resentment or trust issues with the guys currently on the team and Willie’s relationship with them. Especially if you get further leaks like who a trade might be centered around and it falls apart and now Willie has to go back to BI/CJ/Zion and try and repair how he and the organization just spent a week trying to trade you for someone that doesn’t want to be here.

Yeah for some reason I don't believe this
Griff and Windy are friendly, this is likely coming from our front office.

Yeah, I don't get the hate for Windhorst. Is it because he's fat? He does a good job, plus he's got a fat wife, so ill take him for his word.

I think it's funny that the report is the Pels are trying to get a meeting with KD. I'm not saying it's 100% not happening, but if a KD/Willie meeting were actually going to happen, that seems like something we'd hear about as it was happening or after the fact, not in the "hoping to get on the schedule" phase.
Remember, this stuff usually leaks to benefit someone, not because they are trying to inform the public of the actual play by play of events. I'd say this is aimed at pressuring Phoenix to put more in.
To what end? Make us look like we can't even get KD to take a meeting? To make Zion and BI question their future with the team? I don't see how this helps the Pels. It seems to help Brooklyn more by increasing the bidding pool.

The best player I would make available would be CJ or Jonas. They should not touch herb. If we have to trade dyson and trey to make that happen so be it.

What Griff NEEDS to do is either outright deny this rumor, or make it clear, doesn’t even need to directly address the rumor, but state that we are not moving any of our core pieces this off-season and are committed to them.
The last thing this team needs is our guys feeling like the buy in/family rhetoric spread by this team is a one way street and they build up resentments

I may be wrong but I don't think it would've advanced to this point if KD wasn't interested in playing in Nola.

I don't think that Zion would be insulted to be traded for KD. And Zion and his "camp" have done plenty to question his future with the team.
Griff is known for "all the way in, or all the way out." Zion has absolutely not been all the way in, except maybe in the last few months.

This would be a terrible move if we give up our current chemistry and culture as well as mortgage our future on an entitled superstar with a known record of conflict and more importantly taking his ball and going home when he doesn’t get his way. Is this what we want to teach Zion and whoever’s left of a young guys on this team?
Posted on 7/2/22 at 11:41 am to Mad Scientist26
For me, the ONLY way I even consider it is if you keep the core in tact, and I just don’t see how that would be possible unless the Nets really really want picks more than anything(and by all accounts they want players first)
Cause you need CJ for the vet leadership and clout, KD and young guys only is a no go.
You need BI cause he is a culture setter and idolizes KD, so KD might feel obligation to mentor him. Plus BI has endeared himself second only to Jrue in recent memory.
You need Zion cause he is what makes the core go from, yeah, CJ/KD/BI is one of the 5 best cores in the league, to, probably the best core on paper next season with CJ/KD/BI/Zion.
Which, seems like a non-starter with BKN, so to me this is a downside-only approach sending Green out there(if we are allowed to).

MM(I know) has stated multiple times on their thread on PR that Griff is in on this(contrary to what he said about being tired of lebron-esque BS and winning that way) and KD does want to be in NOLA.

lol. This is dumb. The only reason to do this move is because KD is the perfect complement to Zion.
I do not want to give up Herb and/or Ingram for KD, tho so this move will piss me off unless we absolutely fleece the Nets and get CJ to buy into a 6th man role.
Ingram
Herb
KD
Zion
JV
That is a championship caliber starting lineup. Ingram played a lot of PG early in his career and is a decent ballhandler and KD and Zion would obviously take the ball up as well their fair share.
JV probably wouldn't play many 4th quarter minutes.
