Windhorst says the Pelicans are hoping the Nets will let New Orleans talk to Kevin Durant and use coach Willie Green (former Warriors assistant) to sell the Pelicans' vision and try to get KD in NOLA

If Griff fricks up the chemistry of this locker room and the goodwill of Zion/BI/CJ toward this city chasing this motherfricker, I’ll fricking melt more than I ever have on this site.

We've built too much awesome culture shite to risk KD coming in and thinking he runs the organization and turns it into Brooklyn 2.0, which he is directly responsible for burning down.

Not to mention it sure seems Zion and the team are on the same page.

If we put his extension on hold and he knows we're trying to move him and talks stall, what does that do to the Zion/FO relationship?

Just get the deal done with Zion as priority one, please.

At this point the Pels need to leak out that both Zion and BI are not being traded. It's a disservice to BI especially for his name to be dangling out there like this.
The only way it's ok to let this keep going like this is if Griff has told BI and Zion they're not being traded and their trying to get KD another way (massive pick haul)

The key part of that video is the ending. KD wants Phoenix so he'll probably get it. #cornerstone

The ONLY way I would even consider it is if we pulled it off without losing CJ/BI/Zion, but I just don’t see how that is possible, not even talking money wise(which I think makes it impossible outright), even if we gave up all the Lakers picks, all the Bucks picks, and all our picks, they are gonna want one of our core. Likely requires it

Which means now our players are sitting home and having runaway thoughts about Willie, the guy our players endeared so strongly to and played their hearts out for, going to KD hat in hand and asking him which players we should give away or keep that would maybe make you want to grace us with your presence….frick that. This shite is fricked on so many levels.

This is how you destroy team/player trust and bonds

Yep, same as Lowe pointed out. Pelts and Raptors can make better offers but the players always get to where they want. It's just how it works.

DO NOT WANT KD at the expense of ANY of our young stars. That includes Herb.

You would have to remove Herb or CJ from the starting line up, I just don't see the need.

This confirms my speculation in the other thread. The Zion for Durant trade is basically done, as long as Durant buys in. This is why the Zion extension was put on hold.

Griff is an idiot. That’s all I have to say if this is true.

If you could promise me a healthy Zion for the next 4 years, I’d do anything I could to get Durant.

Otherwise it’s dangerous.

I wouldn’t actually call it an issue in the name of chemistry

Certainly

Could be as simple as Zion is absolutely not on the table for KD but they are still working out the details on his deal. GOP could be correct but to think this confirms it is a bit silly.

I call bullshite on Windhorst. I would rather be second best with this team than bring in Durant.
