There’s a reason preseason exists.

And regardless of what certain people WANT to see from our team during preseason there’s a reason we are on our phones posting on a website.

Because some dumbasses would have Zion with a broken leg or half our starters hurt before the season even started.

It’s so wild that this is Zion and BI’s fifth year together but they still need time on court together to figure out their chemistry and roles.

They essentially played one season of significant amount of games together. And Van Gundy decided not to play them off each other.

It's unfortunate that we're not past this stage but I guess it's now or never.

Would you rather him get benched so that he stays healthy during preseason or would you rather him run the court and run set plays/ facilitate while going 60%?

I'd rather he play professional basketball, which at no point means playing at 60% unless it's the all star game.

This isn't a pickup game at the Y. I understand it's the preseason. He's not being asked to play 40 minutes.
But when you play, give it 100% or don't play at all.
Nothing positive comes from "practicing" not giving a shite basketball.
Do you see NFL players just coasting by in the preseason? they play a series and play hard for that series. Or they play 1 quarter, and play hard for that quarter. If they know they don't need to play, or simply don't want to, then they just don't. They don't go out there and half arse it, even in the preseason.

Joel Embiid hasn't played yet in the preseason.
Durant and Booker played like 13 minutes in the first game, didn't play in the 2nd game, and played about 21 minutes in the 3rd game. They shot the damn ball and played.
Tatum and Brown played 27 minutes in the first game. didn't play in the 2nd or 3rd game. When they played, they played.

If you're going to play, then play and play hard, or you can just not play at all.

They know how to play together, they’re both High IQ hoopers, they just don’t play enough.

And you don’t think that’s a bit odd for someone who had a healthy full off-season?
Are we really going to have to wait a good 15-20 games for him to be in game shape? Is that an expectation other teams have for their best player?
Its a joke at this point. The "franchise player" has been fat for his entire pro career, and now after supposedly dedicating himself to a Lebron James offseason regimen, comes into camp looking just as fat as always and can't even play 5 minutes without huffing and puffing.

The organization and fanbase are all kidding ourselves if we think we're going anywhere, if we're dependent on him playing a full season, because its not happening with the shape he's in.

And because he's stays so out of shape, he doesn't even have to have something major happen to miss a bunch of time. He was literally just jogging up the court last year and blew out his hamstring. This is washed up Shaq in his Boston Celtics-era shite, that Chuck always makes fun of him for.

I cannot believe one fricking preseason (PRESEASON) game has broken this board so badly that all it takes is a throwaway comment from Willie about Zion sets to have everyone air out every single insecurity we have about our team.

It may or not present itself this year; but the Rockets better roster will be painfully obvious even by us diehard Pels Fans by 2025 at the latest.

I’m also factoring in Trey’s Injury for this season.

Half of the posts are you and a couple others complaining that people are wanting to talk about it. People are engaged and care. Get over it. It's a place for fans to vent. Let it serve its purpose..

Dude, we have 4 players I would keep before I even started to look at the Rockets roster to fill out the rest.

If me calling out how absurd these judgements are is viewed as complaining so be it. I thought we were smarter than using a fricking preseason game as a basis for determining our success on a grander scale.

It's real time analysis. We can see the players, on the court. We can see if they are conditioned, how they interact, how they respond to instruction. There is a lot of fresh data for us to consider. It's not all useless..

Agreed. Any time we are critical of this team- its deemed a melt, whining, complaining; or how this board is so horrible. If you don’t like people passionately talking about the team in any fashion why get on this board to read this stuff? Just find something else productive to do.

The saints walked the ball down the field on their only all starters offensive possession and got a td.

How's their offense look this year?

PRE.SEASON.

bullshite. Every fricking poster here has complained at various times about very tangible issues. You just got your vag in a knot and took a personal shot at shel over it. That's the only fricking difference.

Football and basketball are vastly different.

I really don't expect our main players to even play. But if they do, then I hope they look good and take it seriously. We are focused on things outside of results of the game (which is meaningless).

Does Zion look in shape to you? Is he jelling with his teammates? Does he fit in the gameplan? This is just a few of the points people are discussing. I think it's been productive and there has been some great back and forth. Why try to kill it?

I couldn't possibly care less about Willie's comment or any preseason game. We all know Zion's role in the offense.

My problem is the same as its been since 2019. Zion still fat as frick and because of that this team will never reach their potential.
