I’m not saying this wasn’t the right move, but I’m also not dancing on Willie’s coaching grave. He’s a good man. This franchise has a lot of systemic issues, more than just the head coaching position, and to think firing the head coach is the magic bullet is naive.

Can't wait for all the Gayle apologists to start praising her when the team margnially improves post firing like the Saints did briefly after dumping DA.
One difference at least is that Borrego is an actual NBA coach unlike that screaming idiot the Sanits had as interim.

I'm not saying Willie is a bad guy but he's definitely not to be pitied.
His pride or arrogance led to this. His stubborness and refusal to self reflect and acknowledge weaknesses brought this.
He was also fairly arrogant at times when questioned about things any semi knowledgeable basketball fan understood and gave weak cliche answers.

I’m not feeling someone who made millions to suck who should have been fired. I’m sure he is a nice person but that doesn’t matter. He was hired to win he did not time to go.
