our stretch run is going to be difficult. finishing w/ a 6th spot or higher would be nothing short of an incredible accomplishment.

Kawhi is coming back in March.
LINK
The Pels play the Spurs 3 times between now and the end of the season. Twice between now and March 15th, so hopefully the Pels get 2 more no Kawhi games.

ESPN reporting with @mikecwright: Spurs star Kawhi Leonard has returned to San Antonio to resume working out with team. There's hope of a March return.

"there's hope for a March return" makes it seem unlikely we see him on the 15th
But I'm actually pretty happy for him. The NBA as a whole is better when Kawhi plays and its been a tough year for him...but I think he should target March 17 as a return against a weakened Minnesota team.

I Googled it and the results said "no, son."

On paper we have a reasonably difficult run in, but Spurs three times, Clippers twice, and Golden State in third to last game of the season might be easier than they appear.
Clippers are having the classic trade away the superstar burst, they'll come down to earth and eventually start tanking/not caring. Spurs we get at least twice without Kawhi in all likelihood, and there's a chance the warriors are locked into either the 1 or 2 seed when we play them and start resting guys.

respect the grind
dude rebounds well, defends well, but his shots are not falling.
Right now, he's shooting 39.3/27.6/68.4 on 14.0/7.3/2.4 attempts
In chicago he was shooting 47.4/42.9/82.3 on 12.1/6.4/3.2 attempts.
He just needs to go 44.0/35.0/77.0 and he goes from 14.6 PPG to 16.7 PPG.

The Clippers have the most games remaining against playoff teams out of all the teams in the hunt, and it's by a good margin. The Jazz seem to be coming back to reality. I have a good feeling we aren't in the conversation of possibly not making the playoffs anymore.
Hopefully we can stay in a top 6 position.

the reality is that the standings can change quickly. we could easily drop out of the race but we could also rise to the 3rd seed. so I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts
MM posted a question on the twitter-sphere, that if we were guaranteed the 7th spot right now would you take it or roll the dice?
its a good question because youre basically asking "are you satisfied with just a playoff berth and a first round exit/sweep"? Or would you rather run the risk of missing the playoffs on the chance we play a team that we could at least steal a few games from?

niko out there shooting 3s after back to back. Yeah, we going to the ship
He’s like 3 for 29 from deep over the last several games. Niko is a streaky shooter. Hopefully he busts out of this slump soon, but despite shooting poorly he still makes an impact with hustle defense, getting rebounds, and cutting.

I don't fear we won't make the playoffs, and i'd like to finish 6th or better, so i'd without a doubt roll the dice on that.

i like the TPA stat from NBA Math...it really does correlate to wins & losses
for some reference, the pels have been steady in that general position for a few months now. the teams bunched in that spot with them have similar records (and similar issues)
