If AD informs the pels front office and other teams that he will not sign with them long term except for the Lakers. Than guess who would have all the leverage LA just saying. ??

Didn’t stop OKC for trading for Paul George and didn’t stop Toronto for trading for an injured Kawhi Leonard. Teams will always take gambles on talent. Boston, New York, Toronto, and Clippers are all teams that would pretty easily be able to convince AD to stay. And if it doesn’t work out for those teams, who cares. None of those teams as currently constructed would win a Championship in the next 3 years anyway. They might as well swing for the fences and try to make it work instead of staying out with no real chance at a Championship run.

I've been saying that since the trade fell apart.
If the bridge is burned then he can help whatever team he is going to give up less.
If he says he is signing with the Lakers in 2020 no matter what then the trade of pick 4 and Ball becomes the best offer available.

frick AD & the Lakers. Would rather keep him another year than give in to his demand to go to Lakers, if that was the case. Besides, who knows what the Lakers situation will be in 2020-21 season as to what they need. We make the best deal that is in Pelicans favor, which does not appear anything the Lakers can offer.
